This weekend is The New York Anime Festival at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. Is anyone going? They are going to show a preview of Appleseed Ex Machina, and they are going to have voice actors from the original Speed Racer anime series as well. If anyone else goes Enjoy.

For the love of God, someone go and meet up with Fleed.

I don't think they'd allow weapons into the convention, though. Unless you dress up as an androgynous spikey-haired character.

I'm tempted to head over and share a juicebox with Fleed.

Reminder, There is a preview of Appleseed: Ex Machina at 6pm to 7pm, I will definitely be at that.

Donde, I paid $55 for a weekend pass. newyorkanimefestival.com. Have some tea, drink Mountain Dew for an energy boost, and eat an apple (I heard a rumor they keep doctors away if you eat at least one a day.)

Great convention, and Appleseed: Ex Machina looks fantastic. A rep from WB showed us 20 minutes from what will be one of the best films of 2008. There is also a gaming area and I played Naruto on the 360, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum on the PS2, Time Crisis 4 on the PS3, and Devil May Cry 4 on the 360. Devil May Cry and Naruto don't interest me, but TC4 and NGBC are very good indeed. Peter Fernandez who voiced Speed Racer in the 60's anime series will be at the con Saturday for an hour discussing his acting career as well as his role in Speed Racer.

There is an interesting new series shown at the convention. It's called Domo and it will be airing on the Nicktoons network in the spring. The website is domonation.com, I believe it is appropriate for children 4 and up.
