Drafts: Mas o no mas? - Page 2

We had a bunch of character drafts didn't we? I remember taking 10 characters all who smoked in their films. I think we did two of those. And we also did a chick character draft.

I remember doing characters, monsters and vehicles.

We also gotta do another babe draft sometime in the not-too-distant future. It's been way too long.

Last year's TV Draft was a blast; it yielded some really cool ideas. I'd be happy to give another of those a spin.

Character draft sounds all right too.

And shockingly Evangeline Lilly is still not eligible.

Nick did a sign-up for one a few months ago then put it on hold until the revamp.

Yeah, I still have a folder all set up with my potential Babe Draft selections. I have some good photos.

Can we have a vote soon on the next draft?
I'm all for taking this current style decade by decade.

Me too, as well. Also.

I'd like to see a books draft. We did it before, and it was pretty fun. Books of the 21st Century, maybe?
I fear a book draft will either be sparsely attended or descend into people picking books they've only heard of.
Hey, there's no rule against picking 20 discworld books, or 10 Dan Simmons. Pick what you know. I'd like to think people have read enough books that they could draft 5.

Just throwing out ideas, but a Comic Book Character draft might be fun at some point.

I'd dig another book draft. Something like this most recent draft -- 5 rounds, certain number of years -- would be cool.

A Comic Book Character draft could go on forever. I'd be up for running a quick draft for that for whomever would be interested as a sidepiece, while we wait on the return of the Next Major Draft.

I thought we were limiting a book draft like we did this last movie draft, my bad.

And we did a comic character draft back in 2000 or 2001 and it was fantastic. It included a fierce debate over whether the GI Joe characters were valid comic book characters since the origins on the toy packages were written by Larry Hama. I also vividly remember whoever picked before me nabbing my planned pick three rounds in a row. And, since it was limited to one incarnation of characters that have multiples, the debate over which Green Lantern or Robin that got picked was pretty spirited. Fun stuff.

That sounds awesome to revisit for a sidecar draft, while we wait for giant one to start up again.

If anyone's interested in doing a dry run for next week.

2 picks a day (1 hero, 1 villain). It can be any genre, any company, any era, but I would like to keep it to things that have appeared in American or British comics.

30 spots max, 12 spots minimum. Sound like a good idea? If there's enough people around for the week before Christmas...we could have a bonus round.
