I'm surprised there aren't more people like this running around.

Of course, I expect a real-life Frank Castle showing up before a Batman or what'd you call it.

He didn't have a mask or anything, but this is still the most amazing story like that in NYC I've heard- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9JcX2X7XnM

That first one is silly. The subway hero is really cool.

That's an awesome story. It's too bad the guy he saved probably later sued his ass for hurting him or something.

Thought this would be about the bunch of sad, insane guys on MySpace that have superhero profiles and actually go out on "patrols" at night.

They get stopped by the police, and when the cops see they're harmless, they just let them carry on.

Behold the page of Nostrum!

Awesome, that guy made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He deserves a medal or something.

Now there's a guy who deserves praise, women, money, and an action figure of himself! Good on you, Wesley Autrey!

I've been wondering when this would start happening. It kinda happened in the 70's with 'The Guardian Angels', but they weren't vigilantes and they were pretty corny.

I'm wondering when we'll start having some Frank Castle types show up.

Here's a thought. How about they get into law enforcement. I know it sounds crazy, but that may actually be effective. But of course, it takes real work to become an officer of the law.

I dunno, the masked guy might be real, it's tough to tell. But that subway guy was awesome.

That subway guy wound up getting screwed. There was a really sad piece in New York Magazine about it.

He got one! http://www.nyc.gov/portal/site/nycgo...&rc=1194&ndi=1

He was all over the place over here for a while when this happened, and everyone was sending him gifts and donations... apparently he didn't deal with it all very well. And yeah, he got screwed by a lawyer that took a huge chunk of his money. Completely fucked, because this guy was just acting on instinct, being a good person, and people took advantage of him still.

I think you're missing the point of what a "vigilante" is.

I guess we know what side YOU were on during the Civil War, Mr. Love!

Tru dat, Lisa. I'm just saying, it's always depressing to read about good people like that getting screwed by The Man.

I knew a Theodore Mann once; most unfortunate phone book name ever.

I remember that subway guy; class act, a wonderful example of what can go right with people.

Yeah! If Frank Castle were a cop - he'd have killed a lot less people by now! Then he'd never have 2 crappy movies made about him...
