If they simply have to go through with this, Reagan's head needs to be in proportion to his achievements as compared to those already on it.

And thus about ten feet high.

Oh wash times, you're such a gas!

They should just put W up there, and rig it so that the whole thing comes crashing down in a week.....but seriously folks. Tip your waitresses.

Good god. The nice thing about Rushmore is that, outside of some horrible racists that nobody cares about, nobody has any dispute with the presidents that are on Rushmore. (though, to be honest, Teddy might be a little out of his league there) Why anyone thinks it's a good idea to put Reagan up there, I cannot begin to imagine. If it does happen, I'm getting a chisel, some bungee cord, and a spotter and turning Mr. Reagan into FDR as fast as humanly possible.

You dare disrespect Theodore Rex? He has a big stick with your name on it waiting for you.

I heard about this more than 10 years ago. It's periodically mentioned and clearly will not happen.

Now to say TR is out of his league by being up there? Now that's nonsense.

Shouldn't this be in the religion forum? zing!

Where's General Zod when you need him?

Man, I make one innocuous little comment about Teddy Roosevelt and the board's Bull Moose sympathizers come out of the woodwork.

This sounds like a great idea. I would also like to see the Constitution amended so Schwarzenegger can be the Presidentator.

If they really want to put a contemporary symbol of America on Rushmore they should go with a barrel of oil. Maybe even an 8 year-old Iraqi girl being sodomized by U.S. troops. Excuse me, did I say “troops?” I beg your pardons. Obviously I meant to say imperialist murderers and rapists.

My country kills for thee, sweet land of tyranny!

He was a psychopath and a warmonger. That's what they call in some circles, "bad".

I just don't think a national monument should be treated like the Hall of Presidents.
I'd support giving Reagan his own mountain, but only if his fictional cabinet from Back to the Future is alongside him. Who among us wouldn't pay good money to see a Ronald Reagan / Jerry Lewis / Jane Wyman / Jack Benny monument?

Reagan on Rushmore = DO NOT WANT.

Same goes for putting his stupid ass on the penny. Name a homeless shelter after the fucking bastard, it's about the level of respect he deserves.
I think in order to raise Alzheimer's awareness, they should carry out this plan by carving Reagan into El Capitan. Facing in.

Was this meant to be ironic?

Fuckin' Wes Anderson, always changing shit.

And Reggie, like Gabe asked, you're being ironic right?

Fun fact: Originally there was a Reagan on the cheese version. Was.

If it was truly a tribute to Reagan, it should've been government cheese.

I'm assuming the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center will refuse treatment to AIDS patients...

Unfortunately, this will never happen. The whacko libs would never allow it. But that doesn't mean that it's not a great idea. The great communicator would be better served with his own monument though, and there is no lack of cliffside space to carve him in all of his glory.

The monument should be as big as the legend the man carved for himself.

Just kidding!

Well, that would only be for inside the White House.

I'm talking about an actual monument!

Right here!

FDR, even Truman would be a better face up there. Give Ronnie a school, retirement home or bank.

Actually, if they're really that set on using our tax dollars to add to Rushmore, I'd like them to finish the original design, which called for the busts to extend down to their waists.
