My Name is Bruce!

I'm surprised there wasn't a thread on this.

I just did a little piece on the first pic to be released for this flick, but is there a better idea for a Bruce Campbell film? I don't think so. Really looking forward to this one.

Bruce Campbell vs. a Chinese God of War, what more could anyone ask for. It should be a fun movie, I can't wait for it.
Galaxy Quest with Bruce Campbell = awesome.
I'm pretty certain we'll all have to see this.
I either had this idea a long time ago or I read about it a long time ago and somehow convinced myself I came up with it.

Either way, I'm suing.
I'll be seeing this.

Oh, and Patrick, if you need a character witness for your lawsuit, all I ask is 5% of the earnings.

I actually do remember hearing about this quite some time ago. Nice to know it moved forward, as I thought it was a great idea.

Good luck with that lawsuit, though. If you win a significant portion of the film's budget, maybe you can buy a used car or something.

I dunno. I love Bruce, but i think his time has come and gone. I haven't seen him in anything worth a tit in a long, long time. Army of Darkness? What has there been since? Bubba Ho Tep was a huge bummer.

I recently saw Darkman on cable after not seeing it for years, and I forgot all about the end. Then when I saw him in that final shot, I remembered much i cheered in the theatre. I also had to explain to my friend why it was so cool to see the new "mask."

I just don't get that excited by Bruce anymore.

Bubba Ho Tep was great.

Every time I think we've plumbed the spectacular depths of your thorough lack of taste, you rent a steam shovel and dig ever deeper.

I can't fucking wait for this. Anybody know when the projected release date is, or when we'd be getting a trailer/poster? I can't wait to see the poster.

I'm doing some digging on this right now, because we all really need to know more than we do already.... I hope a poster pops up soon- but as for a trailer- don't forget that they literally just finished shooting.

When I heard about this I thought it would be a lame, one joke, vanity project. After seeing that I think it will a be a fucking awesome one joke vanity project. Way to go Bruce!
This looks to be the perfect blend of camp and horror. When that girl slams into the front-end of the car, I was sold. I still can't believe this is actually coming out. I had been hearing rumors for years, a la D-War, but now it's happening.
Other than the kind-of-lame monster, this looks like a fantastic movie!
I'd completely forgotten about this. I remember it being mentioned, but I wasn't sure it was actually happening. I'm thoroughly excited now. I have a thing for movies in which actors play themselves as completely insane or total assholes.
Like Being John Malkovich or...fuck, I can't really think of any others, it's late. Early. Morning?
Hahahahahaha you're complaining about BRUCE CAMPBELL not being able to find a decent budget?

This looks shot over a weekend.
And it's perfect.

I'd thought Creature Corner was doing a story on They Call Me Bruce. This makes more sense.
I'm giddy. Back-lashers beware!
ha, looks good!

gotta love "just you and me now, Top Ramen". a nice reminder that Walt Goggins and that bloke who plays Sawyer on Lost aren't the only people around who can make such a deeply offensive line endearing.
Trailer is certainly fun. Hope the flick turns out.

Not a movie, but David Duchovny was pants-wettingly hilarious on Larry Sanders.

ETA And yeah, that preview's pretty funny.
I definitely liked it a lot. The cheesy monster seemed to fit perfect.
For some reason CC is blocked at my job, Pfucking Pfizer. Would someone please post the link to the trailer here? Pretty Please.

Scwarzenegger made himself look pretty bad in Last Action Hero (in more ways than one, obviously). I like what Shatner did to himself in Free Enterprise.
I like Last Action Hero. I don't get all the hate.
Bruce's characterization in this looks an awful lot like that of the main character in an indie film I worked on a few years back called Come Get Some. He was basically an oafish, slacker riff on Ash, completely inept when things came down to it. He lived in a dump of a house with his dog, and was called to quell a supernatural uprising in a small town. There are some reviews of the film online if you look around a bit.

Watching this trailer was slightly surreal.
Very excited to see Bruce in this, but what I really want to see him in is Bubba Nosferatu... sob.

I don't think it's nearly as bad as everyone said it was. It's a fun, entertaining flick. Unfortunately, when you combine the astronomical budget and insane marketing hype with the general feeling that Arnold was due to be taken down a peg at the time, it had to be a damn site better than entertaining to succeed. I think time has actually been pretty kind to it.

They took the trailer down, gosh fuck it.

This honestly doesn't look as funny as I hope it would be. It seems Bruce is dangerously flirting with the "I'm the shit and I'm aware of it" line.

That worked, cheers.

Looks like it could be fun, but I 'll reserve judgement until I see how it fills out a feature length runing time.

Woohoo! Seeing this November 7th-- can't wait!

It seems like Bruce Campbell is too aware of his niche popularity. When a B-movie actor makes a vanity project like this it's kind of sad. The trailer was not being ironic when "Terminal Invasion" flashed across the screen. I'm disappointed. Campbell's scene in Spider-Man 3 was the best part of the movie. "My Name is Bruce" reeks of capitalizing on his own self-deprecation. It's the same as when a Hollywood actor makes one of these projects, to express their perceived greatness - it's just in this case, instead of a saccharine piece of shit like Kevin Spacey's "Beyond the Sea", Bruce Campbell is famous for taking the piss and so his vanity project reflects that.

Cincinnati knows how you guys feel. Maybe I'll head up to Colombus to see it.

Neither do I. That film is a fucking classic. Doubly so if you are a fan of Arnold's films.
