Former Elle magazine editor Jean-Dominque Bauby suffered from the same syndrome and was also able to communicate using only one eye. He wrote about the horror of having locked-in syndrome in his book "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly," which was made into a film released November 30.
I wonder if he and Christy Brown are fighting it out in Heaven. There's got to be a lot of tension between those two. Think about the attention Brown has been receiving for the past few decades, and then think about how some asshole who wrote a book with his eyeball comes along and suddenly everyone wants to talk to him instead of Brown. It would be Foot vs. Eyeball in a battle of lame proportions and extremities.
