Favorite NON-holiday Holiday movies

The fact that Schroeder's theme from Peanuts has become a "Christmas" song has me thinking... Do you have favorite movies to watch this time of year - family tradition and the like - which are not actually holiday movies?

Same here with "Die Hard". Also "Reindeer Games" (FUCK YOU, I like it). I also like to bust out "Better Off Dead" since the whole movie takes place around Christmas. (Already done that.)

The Lion in Winter and To Kill a Mockingbird, while wonderful any time, are two of my holiday favorites.

I always watch Cannibal Holocaust on christmas eve.
Because the film takes place during christmas.
Honest.

Been watching Heat every New Year's Day. For some reason, the combined acting chops of pre-S1mone Pacino and pre-Showtime DeNiro makes the hangover less awful.

I just watched it again last night and was struck by how Christmassy Whit Stillman's Metropolitan is. Lots of scenes of good-looking people dressed in coats walking the streets of holiday-decorated NYC.

My mother-in-law had some comment last night while my wife and I were watching The Hustler about how it didn't have much of a Christmas spirit to it.

Of course, she undercut whatever impact the movie had by sitting and talking on the phone during two of the most important scenes. I think the woman has a vicious passive-aggressive streak, which became obvious when she punished me with Home Alone 2 afterwards.

I've been known to pick Batman Returns sometimes.
