Would this be the first time Harrison Ford ever played a southerner?

At this point, I'm game for all those films from Spielberg; Interstellar being the most intriguing!

Can't help but love Spielberg's diversity of projects.

Please let this be a scene in the film.

Kind of hard to imagine Andrew Johnson figuring in substantially in a "Lincoln" biopic. Not that Ford couldn't be taking a smaller role, but he doesn't come onto the scene for Lincoln until 1864, and even then he's a pick based on keeping border states in the Union who by most accounts wasn't exactly a member of the inner sanctum.

Still, I'm dying to see this movie. Lincoln has never been done right onscreen, and the idea of Neeson in the role is extremely exciting.

You've obviously never seen Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Unless Lincoln is no longer based on Team of Rivals, then this rumor makes no sense. It would essentially be a cameo role. Johnson factored into a grand total of nothing in Lincoln's cabinet decisions. He was made Vice President to lock up votes for the nomination. Unfortunately, he was not the ideal guy to have next in line if your President gets assassinated.

I'll take Lincoln over Interstellar a thousand times. But I'd want Lincoln over Indy IV as well.

Ditto on that. And by the look of Johnson in the pic, I'd say Harrison (with a bit of hair/makeup) would make a great choice.

A small role like this is the sort of thing Ford should have been game for 10 years ago. Still, never too late to see the light.
