It measures 11 feet by 6 1/4 feet and 8.84 million pixels of resolution. Here's a picture of a 103-inch plasma next to the 150-inch plasma:

It's impressive but I don't get who would go for this instead of a projector? If you've got the room for this monster, you've got the room for projection.

Proof yet again that if you want to sell a product, put a picture of the Southern Alps from Te Wahipounamu on it. I so want to retire to the Dart River basin (except it's too cold, so I'll probably go to the Canary Islands, instead).

But projection has the benefit of fitting through doorways.

...And into my car at Best Buy.

Course, if I could afford that TV, I could afford a drawbridge for my palatial volcano castle/fortress.

Couldn't you just afford to go to broadway on a whim and see plays in super HD with your own eyes! Heck maybe even finance one of your own?

"I'm gonna bounce back, and when I do I'm gonna buy you a TV so big it's gonna make you puke!"

Staircases? You build your house around a TV like that.

Yeah, you guys are acting like most middle-class people can afford that TV. If you can afford a 150 inch plasma today, you're not a) picking it from Best Buy, b) trying to fit it in your Yugo with your NC-1701 bumper sticker, and c) lugging it up the stairs yourself. You probably have a team of midgets and flying monkeys pick it up and bring it to you. That and the little dog Toto, too.

I can't wait for when that thing falls and kills dozens of people. That'll be a hoot!

Win a playoff game in 10 years and then talk to us.

On subject, sweeeeeeet. Keep these huge sets coming. It always trickles down in a few years. I remember when 36" sets were considered huge but the (at the time) ground-breaking 60" and beyond flat screen TVs were scoffed at as ridiculous and expensive and now they are standard in all big box stores. If sets are 103" or whatever, 1080p just won't cut it.

Okay, starting this Sunday.

But, keeping with the topic at hand, I would probably look like a 700 lb. British guy (as in, day-glo pale) if I had that TV. I would never leave my house!

So, would such a thing spawn a new race of translucent beings who worship at the foot of the "giant magic box" a la the apes of 2001?

I'm thinking a slave-powered stone slab dais, Xerxes-style.

Cause that's how I roll.

Yep, and I'd be right there with them, proudly basking in a glow of my own making (probably while stewing in juices of my own making, too).
