For some crazy reason, they've decided to make a movie of your life. What kind of movie would it be? A comedy? An action/adventure? A thriller?

Who would play you? Who would play the other major characters in your life? What would your theme song be?

For my life, it would probably be a light comedy revolving around the retail world, focusing on my 20s. The perfect director would probably be John Hughes, while in his 80's prime.

If they were casting an actor who LOOKED like me, the ideal would probably be a younger version of Hugh Grant...I'd prefer a younger John Cusack, but I wouldn't have much choice in the matter, I'm sure. If they cast my wife according to who she looked like, they'd want to find a young Audrey Hepburn type (I'm lucky, my wife is gorgeous). They'd probably cast the usual assortment of 80s stock characters around me to flesh out my family and friends, but they'd probably have a dark edge to them.

My ideal theme song (don't cringe) would be Saga's 'On the Loose'.

How about you guys?

Edited: You can vote for more than one genre in the poll above.

Damn that's a good question. Sometimes I'd feel for Alex Cox's strangeness or Michael Mann in terms of atmosphere and mood or rather Judd Apatow in terms of comedy and feeling. I'll have to get back to you on that.

I figure due to my age and look I'd be played by Emil Hirsch or even Joseph Gordon-Levitt but I'd always be curious if Gary Oldman were to play me just to see what he'd do. Plus my dad would be played by Elliot Ghould and my best friend played by Steve Bucemi.

I went with comedy, but that's more because I tend to not take things too seriously, not because my life is a slapstick adventure.

My dad at his current age would have to be played by R. Lee Ermey though.

The family drama and Oscar grab would be birth - 16 years of age. It would be 'This Boy's Life' with some coke to go with the booze. My parents were fun. Could probably toss in a bit of 'Mommy Dearest' as well.

16 - 21 would be the comedy. College, crap retail jobs, and spending way too much time hanging out with friends doing nothing in empty parking lots. A lot like 'Dazed and Confused', even more so because a good bit of that time was spent in Austin.

21 - Present would be the coming of age film, and learning about relationships. High Fidelity without the soundtrack.

As far as directors or actors, I have no idea really. Except my dad would absolutely be Harrison Ford. They're dead ringers.

No one would make a movie of my life. A man sitting around watching a computer screen or reading all day does not make for exciting cinema.

Mine would be kind of like feature length episode of Scrubs revolving around my time working in a projection booth at a theater. The real world story would be intercut with the daydream fantasies I would have where I would insert myself into famous film scenes and make a mess of things.

Sounds like a project Gus Van Sant would happily take on.

I'd be John Cusack circa the 80's (Savage Steve Holland era)... not because I looked like him, but because I'm a sarcastic cartoonist at heart. The genre would be sci-fi/comedy (not on the poll as such). My Mom would be played by Fran Drescher and my Dad would be played by a genetically-spliced amalgam of Tango & Cash (or more accurately, Lincoln Hawk & Jack Burton).

I'd have to go with Animated. There's not an actor alive who would be able to pull off the dramatic weight fluctuations. Plus I could do my own voicework.
I'd think Frank's would be either Michael Mann or Tony Scott.

Ripoll's would be done by Edgar Wright.
I think Ripoll would probably be after some Woody Allen action, but I could be wrong.

My life? I voted for a mish-mash of genres, it's got to be animated though. Maybe Waking Life style, except exciting.

Would your best friend be a talking pie?
But it'd be a warm pie, right? *voice cracks* Otherwise, what's the point?
Mine would be a thriller.

I don't want to get into specifics.. but people die.

Did you guys hear a siren? I should be heading out, got.. stuff to do. I uh, left the kettle on. And I have a.. turkey.. in the oven. Yeah, yeah that's it. A turkey.

Hey, where the fuck's the pornographic option?
I guess if you wanted to film the conception scene I suppose.

And who would be playing Ripoll, Robot? 70s Woody Allen or Christopher Eccleston with an american accent?
My money is on Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Well played Trejo. Well played.

Next question, who directs and stars in the Moltisanti story?
I'd get George Lucas to direct my life story, so he can go back and fix the stuff that I thought kind of sucked.
Yeah but his monkeying around would not help things,. your dialogue would suck balls. Plus side, your best friend is played by rakish Harrison Ford.
If someone filmed my life, it'd be a documentary. No brainer.
Would it be done by George Hickenlooper or Errol Morris?
Me, a la Jonathan Caouette.
Would it be called "Ripoll on Ripoll"?

I'm disappointed that Moltisanti hasn't chimed in. I suspect that his story would be...colorful?

I think that we can all speculate what the FabFunk story would be...
Probably would be done by either Larry Clark or Victor Salva. Or that guy who did "2 Chicks 1 Cup"

Mine would have to be an action/adventure - being an art director DEMANDS it!

I'd like to be played by a Blues Brothers era Dan Aykroyd (when I had hair), my best friend Matt would be played by Andrew "Dice" Clay, my close friend Jerry would HAVE to be played by Chris Elliot. Kari (Mythbusters) Byron for my wife, 'cause she looks alot like her.

Ah, yes... I can see the scenes now; meeting my wife for the first time (with explosions), my friends and I hitting the malls (with explosions), going to the movies (car chase, PLUS explosions), creating artwork for a few ad agencies (gunfire), my holographic assistant years (international assassins and terrorists, with me as the first line of defense for the company), to today - handling epic laser printer problems and deadlines (MAJOR explosions, special appearance by Selma Hayek in a skimpy outfit, throwing grenades and a knife clenched between her teeth. 'Cause I said so).
I just reailzed I don't want my dad to be played by Elliot Gould. He should be played by Ed O'Neill. That makes more sense.

See! Everything really IS better with explosions!

Strictly animated.
