Wow, they've trained porpoises to fight zombies.

Yeah, that looked even more terrible than I thought it would be. It joins Night of the Living Dead: 30th Anniversary Edition, Day of the Dead: Contagium and Creepshow 3 in the sadly growing pile of insults to Romero's legacy.

Lame jokes aside, it doesn't look terrible.

Let's just hope DIARY OF THE DEAD isn't another one of those....

looks like we're in for the proverbial MOUTHFULLA GREEK SALAD.

I say this w/o having sen the trailer, b/c I can't watch it at work, but I'm sure I'll see this on On Demand in a few months, just because it's a zombie movie. I may regret 90 minutes I can't get back having been spent on it, but hey. . .

It's taken so long for this to be released that I knew it had to be bad. Part of me wishes the zombie sub genre would dissapear for a few years.

At least with the straight to DVD release we stand a chance at another remake within the next 5-10 years and hopefully that will be done properly. I'll still get this movie, only because it has zombies and even the bad ones have at least something going for it if nothing else at least how NOT to do a zombie movie.

"Starring the same guy who kicked zombie ass in that irrelevant movie with the similar name?"

Fuck Nick Cannon. His character is going to be that annoying character you want to see killed but never does.

And what are these? Super Zombies?? Been drinking too much Gummi Berry juice?

I would've liked a sequel to Dawn with the same characters...or whoever survived after the tape ended. They could've still kept the plot of Day somewhat intact.

No shit...Although I didn't really enjoy the remake they set it up perfectly for a sequel/continuation. Just have there be a military base on the island and there you go, instant DAY OF THE DEAD.

When I sent the link in after watching it, I told Alex, "Why do they have zombies jumping around like characters from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon?"

Heh. Well, the zombies could be even more ridiculous... (ahem)

Because I love all things Zombie. I dig the whole premise, the undead reanimating and trying to reclaim what was once theirs. Each movie gives me a little piece of the puzzle incase either A. I want tomake a zombie film or B. some event turns fiction into reality I will be ready for the zombie uprising!

Okay it doesn't look good but are you telling me not one of you guys laughed out loud at...

"I'll help you!" *pushes woman into a zombie*

"MAUAHAHAAHahAHA, see you!"

This movie looks like a ziploc bag full off ass concentrate wrapped in an old merkin.

The trailer did have quality typography.

And by quality typography I mean the lame type face that wasn't cool when Mtv Beach House used it however many years ago that was.
My expectations are reached.

Yes, that tickled me quite a bit.

Regarding Night of the Living Dead: 30th Anniversary Edition, Has there been an actual worthwhile release of Night of the living dead? The only two I've been able to find are that one, and one with really crappy transfer, Is there a restored version that didn't have god awful new music scored to it?

There is indeed, my friend. Track down the Elite Night of the Living Dead: Millennium Edition, with a THX-certified transfer, commentaries, even some related esoterica like Latent Image-produced TV commercials and the Night of the Living Bread parody short.

Awesome, thanks.

If anything, I think these films make George's films even better. What he was able to accomplish with the originals on a far smaller budget make the remakes and cash ins look like the trash they are.

I laughed my ass off when the "mom" zombie at the end of the trailer got slammed into by the truck. The part of me that loves House of the Dead because of it's abject and unredeemable horribleness wants to watch this new "Day of the Dead"(which means that I'll never see it, that part of me hasn't ever made me watch "Creepshow 3" or (ahem) "Contagium").

Is there anyone out there that genuinely likes this stuff?

It actually brought back a memeory of a few years back. My brother and I were standing behind a building that had lots of land and trees behind it. So, we hear something. We listen and hear movement. Then we hear a deep growl. We look to each other and take off! I was just a head of him and reached back and put my hand on his chest to keep me ahead of him....Hey, better you than me!

Looks like it could be harmless fun.

EDIT: Except Nick Cannon. Fuck that guy. And you know he's gonna be around the whole goddamn movie.
