I basically agree with you though,. I think the New England will win by 2 scores but hopefully it's a decent enough game.
You're right, my bad!! I apologize. I was also trying to make the point that the Pats were never in danger of loosing that game.

Alright Eli, don't go all "introvert" on us tonight!

GO BLUE!!

I pray for an epic upset.

Go Giants!
Go Pats.

The 72 Dolphins get interviewed next on Fox. They are also going to be in some commercial about Perfectville after the SB. CAn't wait to hear the BS.

I finally watched S1 of FNL and knew VooDoo Tatum looked like someone. Then I saw Plaxico on yahoo. They are twins.
Go Pats. Either way, the advertisers are loving it (especially in those pesky blue states with their hippy, non-sports loving ways). Everyone is watching tonight's game.
I am hoping for a...Giant victory! I hope that the Giants run for 150-200 yards between Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw with Eli Manning getting the MVP award by passing for 300+ Yards.
It goes against all I believe as a Steeler fan, but go Pats go.

I hate NYG.
Not only do the commercials suck but the Pats offensive line is brutal.

the 49 yd non-fg attempt was a mistake. Atleast the Pats are driving w/ 5 min to go.

Tuck MVP if Giants win. Welker if Pats win.
Oh no. The '72 Dolphins are gonna be unsufferable.
YEs!!!!!!!

That proves that 18-0 ain't worth shit!!!!!
That was a hell of a game.

If you listen carefully you can hear Tiki Barber sobbing.
Fuck the Giants.
Fuck Manning.

Strahan's still cool.
Hell fucking yes.
Best damn 1-loss team I've ever seen. Hahahahahahaha!

Side note, two brothers win the Super Bowl back-to-back. Crazy.

Not to mention they'll probably give Eli the MVP. Payton won it last year, that's even crazier if it happens.
An undefeated regular season just don't mean as much when you can't go undefeated in the post season
post #69 of 142
as a Colts and Manning fan..this is great news!!

Buck up Massachusetts: pitchers and catchers report in two weeks.
Hey look, it's an internet meme. And it's all timely and stuff.

Looks like Shula's Tom Brady voodoo doll finally kicked in.
The second I heard Brady in the pre game interview with Bradshaw saying his son wasn't the most important thing in his life, and Bradshaw reminded him about his kid, I was like "man I hope this fucker loses if he thinks there is something more important"

Still he played like ass. Thank god I didn't put any money down.

Commericials all sucked except the American Idol one near the end "I liked that song, until you ruined it"

Man, 5 sacks. Was Brady sacked 5 times all season? And that last sack was brutal. The Giants did what other teams couldn't do all season--put pressure on and disrupt Tom Brady. It doesn't happen much, but when it does, Brady gets frustrated quickly, and he was way off towards the end of the game. First Super Bowl (other than the Steelers win) that I've watched the whole thing in a long time.

After the half, we were joking that Belechik went into the locker room and said, "OK, fuck this. Breakout the video tape." It's amazing that just last year folks were saying NY should cut Manning and move on. When Manning escaped from that huge pressure on the last drive, I wondered if that was "fate".

I just submitted the Brokeback Mountain 2 scoop to Devin.

Wow...What a great win for the New York Giants. I am also glad the Giants won because the Dolphins of 1972 are still the only undefeated team in the history of the NFL.

Of course the best ad during Super Bowl 42 was...The Iron Man Trailer!
Wow, I've never seen such a devastating combo like the tenacious Giants defense and the utter suckage of the Patriots' Offensive line. It's like they were n't even freakin trying anymore.
Congrats G-Men and fans. Hell of game. This Pats fan tips his cap.
I can't believe I just watch a historical moment in which a coach known for not showing emotion appeared to lose his shit on camera. Great great stuff.
Well that was something. Always great to see an underdog win, and I can only imagine how Archie Manning must feel right now. Only guy I feel bad for is Junior Saou.By the way, the Badger commercial was hilarious.

Anyone else think that those people who were watching the game just for the ads (which were 'eh' this time) were probably getting into the actual game by the end of it?

Just the way he comes out on to the video when the Giants win and they have to get everyone back on the field to do one more play. Man was that hilarious.

Lots of great NFL players have never won a ring. Someone commented on Tiki Barber earlier...I think it's kind of ironic how he gave them so much shit when he retired, and their first season without him, they win the Super Bowl. Hmm...

I'm watching the NFL Network post-game, and it's hilarious that after fellating the Pats for the last 18 weeks, now they're talking about how they'll never be considered as great as the 18-1 Bears or 49ers, and how they just aren't as good as other teams have been.

Osi Umenyiora threatened on the post-game that he was not going to attend the Pro Bowl because he was the only Giant on the NFC squad, and how ridiculous it would be for no players from the Super Bowl champions to be in the Pro Bowl. Which I have to agree with...only 1 player from the champs in the Pro Bowl?

I was ready to blame a Giants loss on the inexplicable way their defense seemed to call off the dogs on the Patriots' go-ahead drive, but boy did Manning come through down the stretch. I don't feel too bad about the Bucs losing to the Giants anymore.

Oh, and a dismal year for commercials. Only the FedEx pigeons and the Doritos commercial got more than a polite chuckle out of our group.
I don't know shit about sports but isn't this the first time two brothers have been the QB on a Super Bowl winning teams back to back?
TYREE!
Man that last drive was crazy. And hard to watch.
Eli made a bunch of bad throws, but then he suddenly turned into Michael Vick and a football stuck to the back of David Tyree's helmet.

My favorite play had to be when Brady was driven into the ground on the Patriots last drive, though. The Giants d-line deserved that MVP trophy.

I laughed my ass off at the Doritos commercial with the mousetrap, and I still can't tell you why. Hell, I watched it again online and still LOL'd.

He really got knocked around and bent in different directions this game, even when he got rid of the ball.
Yeah, that Doritos rat commercial had fantastic timing. I was blown out of my chair, because I just was not expecting that.

And the guy in the rat suit punching the doritos eater was just awesome.

I thought both of the career builder commercials (animated bug kill and heart) were creative if not laugh out loud. Also liked the Coke and Pepsi commercials, Pepsi if only for Samberg in a wig and the Tony Romo and his O-Line randomly trolling a subdivision in their SUV. Great great great fucking game, though.

I enjoyed the Budweiser horse getting trained with "Rocky" style montage by the Dalmatian.
