Figured a thread like this could be useful.

So... I see the blogging side of CHUD is heating up, but I still get a blank page when I try to change my profile picture. Do I have to register a new account?

I think you're talking about the community section. That's not the CHUD blog section. The community is being addressed next week.

How do I apply for a blog? Me no speak too well, but I want to do a comic strip. I usually can't get on CHUD for days at a time, so I'm wondering if its reserved for people who can commit to daily updates?

Some of the blogs are not displaying properly and it appears they are showing up under the main table. I noticed with Eilleen's earlier and the one I just posted as well: http://chud.com/articles/blogs/40/Cu...ments-Yet.html

Tried signing up for one, but no good. Everytime I try to submit my info, it just takes me back to the sign-up page, although all the fields are still filled out.

I, too, would like to get into the CHUD Blogging Movement. I've been trying to use my Facebook/MySpace to no avail; since I spend an inordinate amount of time here it'd probably be more conducive. Where do we sign up? I know the Community section isn't the same thing; but when I go to the Blogs tab it doesn't give me much info on how to go about applying for one.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would regular flavor Chewers need blogs on the main page if the community section will be up and running? Everybody would want that and the community would suffer.

Yup, looks like the community section has an add blog option, so I'll wait until thats fixed. Currently things are a bit wonky (things are invisible, won't let you sign up with spaces or special characters, etc).

I'm seeing the same problem. Actual blog is appearing below the main table template for the page.

I've done a couple of blogs in the Comm. section because I don't see where you sign up under "Blogs" either. Also, when I try to add pictures, I just get sent to an "empty" screen. Both in IE and Firefox.

Well, I for one am having trouble editing my blog. I click on edit, and it takes me to a blank screen.

I've seen this problem on my own "blog page" and that of other bloggers: When I click on my byline and it takes me to the page of all my blogs, each blog has someone else's photo and name on it. (Though when you click on the actual blog itself, the photo on the article itself that comes up is correct.) Is this something people at the site have to fix, or is it something the bloggers themselves can rectify? It's been like this for a few days now, at least since Tuesday night.

A couple of times when I've created a blog through the blog manager, two separate versions of the same blog somehow get created. I will approve one of the versions for posting, but I can't figure out how to delete the second version so that it no longer appears in my list of pending blogs. How can I do this?

Here's another conundrum for CHUD's techno-priests to unravel.

To help "spread the word" about my blog, I post a link to it in Facebook. However, unlike most Facebook link postings, which display the first few lines of the web page's text, links to my blog pages show this:

TRACKING PIXEL: Place this 1x1 tracking pixel image on the page along with the creative: Use this link as the click-through URL: href="http://n4403ad.doubleclick.net/jump/gn.chud.com/redirect;adid=202910529;sect=redirect;sz=1x1;ord=[timestamp]" ...


Is there any way, either at my end (posting the link) or yours (in the web page code), to get around having this show up?

I have no idea on the solution when linking to the site from Facebook (I'm more familiar with MySpace).

Rearding double blogs, I've only seen one instance of this (I removed the duplicate) from you and the only thing I can think of is you could have, by accident, hit the save button twice.

I had problems sizing down the font of the last paragraph of my review for Casablanca. I tried selecting the paragraph then clicking on the font size, but it seemed like nothing changed. Could there have been a problem when I pasted the review from word to the content box?

I'm unable to paste(from notepad) into the text editor. Anyone have any advice? Just for the hell of it I tried pasting from wordpad and it didn't work either. This is both with a right-click and with ctrl + v.

I can type directly in the editor just fine(just like a post on here, where I can paste). Is it a Java issue or something else?

I discovered the same thing last night. You have to add it in yourself in your account. Just log in and click on "My Account" in the upper right corner. Your account info will pop up, with the "bio" window available. Just fill your bio in and save it.

Is there a trick to uploading/using images? I got it to work for one blog post but I keep getting a message that the folder isn't write-able for subsequent posts.

If you save and exit the blog and then go back in that seems to get it working again.

On a simmilar note is there any way to remove blogs you have started but discarded for any reason?

Google Chrome doesn't work for html formatting, right?
At least the system says so and all my words came out together. No spacing, paragraphs or nothing.
