My wife and I decided to check out the Frye art museum today, since it's free and three blocks from our place. It just happened that the R. Crumb exhibit was having its grand opening weekend. Anybody even vaguely interested in his work, or comics history in general, should definitely take a look. There are no reproductions, all original media, and it gives you a great peek into how he works. It also covers a nice breadth of his styles and subjects. I, for one, didn't realize just how technically skilled he could be when doing realistic portraits.

It's running through April. I'm certainly going back to look through it again at some point.
