Karas (final 3 episodes are actually very good)

The first DVD was reviewed here, and like the reviewer, i found the first 3 episodes (which are in the first DVD) pretty much just empty visuals. I've watched the rest this week, and episodes 4 to 6 are very, very good.

The last 3 episodes were released as "Karas: Revelation" in R1 recently. The plot was finally explained, and i was surprised at how likeable they made the cast and how emotional this series became. Been a while since i cared for characters in an animated series.

It didn't realize "Karas: The Prophacy" and Karas: The Revelation" was an anime miniseries. I thought there were just two movies released a year apart from each other. And I agree that the second half was better than the first, both in story and character development, but the visuals for both volumes are first rate.

It's pretty common of american companies to splice episodes together and call them a "movie" to fool buyers. Manga does it with most of the stuff they release.

Karas' originally a 6-episode OAV (original video animation) series.
