I was watching this trailer this morning, and Carter from Dave Matthews Band showed up. As much shit as I get from Rob for this band, I think that Carter's drum kit alone shows off some major tallent: http://www.dmband.com/member/carter_equipment

Which is why my favorite albums are the live albums. I rarely listen to the studio albums because they lack the jams.

Is there a joke about Matthews that hasn't been done yet? If so, please insert it here_______________________.

I think the last two (and a half, if you count the Sessions) Lillywhite albums do a good job incorporating some of the live improv stuff into the studio without creating 15-minute monsters. And then Ballard came along... D:

I will kill Headcheese extra in CoD4 or something for giving you shit about DMB.

I would appreciate that, thanks!!

Just FYI for you DMB-types, Willie Nelson covers "Gravedigger" on his new record, and it's pretty good.

Yeah, I really like it. He certainly puts a differently flow to the phrasing.

Bring it grave. As for DMB, I'm not saying that he isn't talented, it's just that his music is not my thing.

Wow, that response was way more nice than I had expected.

After 7 months, i was actually able to see them live tonight for the first time.

Perfect doesn't even come close to describing it. They exude confidence and just plain old fun. They jammed with each other on every single song extending them to over 10 minutes each. Played a lot with the crowd and Dave Matthews is one of the best leading men i've seen. Charismatic as hell.

I really hope it was the first of many visits.

You had a decent setlist, too. What other bands were at the festival?

It's been over 10 years since my first DMB show. I can't believe it's been that long.

Local bands on that day. Other days included NIN, STP (next wednesday), The Cult, The Killers, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

And yeah, the setlist was nice. It was short though. 1.45 hours. I understand it's a festival and you have like 4 different bands on the same day, but with DMB i want a 3 hour set.
