Rogers Video (Canada) discontinuing HD-DVD as of TODAY!

Well, I was just in there looking at some stuff and overheard one of the staff explaining a memo they received today to a customer. Apparantely, the decision has been handed down to discontinue HD-DVD at Rogers' retail video outlets "because Paramount and Universal are switching to blu-ray." Funny, there's been no official announcement, so I question retailers' ethics in spreading such rumours as gospel... "let the consumer decide" indeed! >-(

Colour me miffed! This is balls... but what the f u ck do I know right?

Maybe you should have bought a Blu-ray player instead.

It's rumor - only for the moment. Back when the Warner's announcement came out it was reported that both Universal and Paramount had clauses which would let them get out of the HD-DVD deals. Both studios should be supporting blu-ray by the end of the year.
