Lost Oddysey - Page 3

I was torn with Lost Odyssey.

It felt nostalgic with me because I grew up playing old school JRPGs, but this one also felt really archaic after playing other recent games like Oblivion and Mass Effect.

Would have been a lot better experience if the game was made prior to those games. Those games just felt more engaging and more interactive.

I sort of felt the same way, but I did find Lost Odyseey to be about a 200% improvement over Blue Dragon. So if they can keep improving, I have hope that Mistwalker will eventually produce a really great game.

Yeah, especially since the last JRPG I played before Lost Odyssey was FF XII. I love XII and it just seemed there was a ton more shit to do in that game than Odyssey. Odyssey had a great story, but to me it was just main quest, sidequests, and buying better weaponry. No real variety in sidequests at all.

Just seemed like it should have been right in between FFVIII and FFIX. It really did feel like a Playstation RPG.

Even if the game is 200% better than Blue Dragon, I don't know if that is good enough. Blue Dragon's story and idiot characters made me pretty annoyed. It wasn't until I actually got to fight a couple of the secret dragons in that game that the combat system ever felt like it was really used. Even then though, the story was so bad that I should have just quit.

Sorry, I just cannot badmouth that game enough.
