Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) - Page 4

Gibson totally lets his aussie accent HANG OUT in LW3. You hear it just about every time he talks.

The Chronicles of Kahan continue in 16 BLOCKS.

He also appears in TIMELINE!
He rushes to the aid of some time traveler who suddenly shows up in the middle of a road. Not very KAHAN-like at all.

That's the only part of TIMELINE I remember!

Best non-LW work from Kahan comes in PREDATOR 2. Got a real kick out of seeing him be subservient to Glover.

Riggs can be seen struggling to stop himself from "breaking down" as he watches Murtaugh sink to the depths of anger.

Where are your charming quips now Riggs?

But he's back calling Rog "cochise" during the wrongfully cut AH WANNA KNOW TYRONE car scene.

Reading this thread after I've been reassessing the series for a while now, I've come to realize that the Lethal Weapon films are an 80's franchise (with all the trimmings) that took a detour into the 90's and had not one fucking clue what to do with itself.

I love that in 2 (on the very rim of the 90's abyss), in order to give Riggs some catharsis so he can stop being such a crazy, Kung Fu killer, they come up with the idea that his wife was actually murdered so that way he can have someone to crazy, Kung Fu kill for the crime. Love that.

Re-visting this for the first time after 5 years.

It's a solid entry. Nice to see them referencing the events in LW2 (e.g Nail gun, Toilet Bomb) and Eric Clapton's "It's Probably Me" is an awesome song.

Still on the whole I liked LW2 better. Leo in particular is pointless here.

Lethal Weapon 3 was an unadulterated pile of shit.

That is all.

*wailing sax*

As God as my witness, I will use this as an audition monologue within the year.

On one hand I like the idea of Rene Russo as the female version of Riggs, on the other hand after watching her comically bad fight scenes makes me wince. So it's a conundrum.

Lethal Weapons 1&2 are classics.  Lethal Weapons 3&4 aren't great films by any stretch, but I love them for the characters.  You watch the first two because they are great action films.  You watch the latter two to "hang out" with Riggs & Murtaugh.  That's the best why I can think of to describe this franchise.  Should they have stopped after the second one?  Probably.  Do I have fun watching the third and fourth entries?  Yes, and I would certainly give a fifth one a shot if they ever make it.

I would honestly watch a movie that was nothing but Riggs and Murtaugh goofing off in retirement with no action scenes whatsoever.  Their chemistry with one another is what holds the latter films together and makes them worthwhile (at least in my eyes).
