Donald Pleasence is on fucking fire in this movie. So fucking funny. Worth seeing for Pleasence alone.

Better than Puma Man?

Never seen Puma Man. It's by far the best Pleasence performance I've seen, but my point of reference is only Halloween, Halloween 2, and Shadows & Fog. Oh, and Escape From NY.

EDIT: BTW, first heard about this film from Edgar Wright's "Trailers From Hell" segment on it. Worth watching.

I'll definitely check it out.

"Mind the door!". This movie is terrific, all lead by Pleasances bat-shit insane performance. Some great gore effects don't hurt.

for more Pleasence brilliance, check out Polanski's Cul-de-sac.

I enjoyed Pleasence's normal performance in "The Great Escape". Of course I'm severely limited in seeing his movies. I've only seen about 10 or so, not including this one.

Christopher Lee makes a fine cameo too.

That is a most grievous error Patrick, see it now.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet, but the completely overwhelming and LONG panning shot that covers seemingly the entire expanse of The Man's collapsed subway-tunnel home is a fucking stunner. That one shot tells you nearly everything you need to know about The Man and what he is. The economy of storytelling in that shot is amazing...too bad the rest of the film is kind of a lumpy mess. Despite the film's clumsy screenplay, it is a lot of fun; Pleasence is great and Sherman's direction is quite engaging. Oh yeah, I nearly forgot, the gore is very disgusting and extremely delightful.

Oh man, that blew me away. That's like, favorite shots of all time worthy.
