The Best Jacoby Since Billy: 2008 Boston Red Sox

Or, "More Insufferable Red Sox Fans."

Pitchers and catchers report soon. Let's get this started.

- Interesting way to start things off. Taking nothing away from what Schilling did in 2004 and in the postseason last year, Rob Neyer is right about the rotation being deep enough to withstand the loss of Schilling. I worry if that will mean too many innings too soon for Buchholz, but the Sox have been careful with young pitchers in the past. Still, even without Schilling, a 1-4 of Beckett, Dice, Wakefield and Lester is pretty strong. Hopefully Wakefield will hold up.

- Coco vs. Jacoby in spring training will be an interesting battle. I think the Sox will keep both to start the season but I can't imagine them not moving Coco before the deadline, especially if they need to firm up the rotation.

- I like the pick-up of Sean Casey to basically fill in the Eric Hinske role.

- Evidently Manny has been working out in Arizona in the offseason and is in tip-top shape.
