Anyone know of a website that would be like a WebMD for cars??
What kind of car is it? Look for enthusiast forums specific to your car.

I've got a '94 Nissan Altima

Speaking of cars, some motherfucker hit-and-ran my parked car last night. I came out this morning to find a big dent in the side and the entire rear bumper lying in the street. No note. Asshole.

Couple of clubs/enthusiast forums I found doing a quick google search.

You can always post details on your problems. It me be a general issue some has had happen to them before.

How uncool! I hate when I go out to my car and find dents and scratches (or at least I used to, I don't really care anymore - it's such a piece now).

What's it doing? I just sold my '01 Altima that I'd had for several years this week.

Lance: Still got your Malibu?
Vincent: Aw, man. You know what some fucker did the other day?
Lance: What?
Vincent: Fucking keyed it.
Lance: Oh, man, that's fucked up.
Vincent: Tell me about it. I had it in storage for three years, it was out for five days and some dickless piece of shit fucked with it.
Lance: They should be fucking killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.
Vincent: Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that asshole doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.
Lance: What a fucker!
Vincent: What's more chickenshit than fucking with a man's automobile? I mean, don't fuck with another man's vehicle.
Lance: You don't do it.
Vincent: It's just against the rules.

That's right, Pulp Fiction quotes. Misfit = cutting edge.

I love it!

Hey, did you get a new car? I may pick your brain about the process. My car is the 1990 Accord I've always driven (which is why I'm not as pissed about this whole situation as I might otherwise be).

Yeah, at 171,000 miles, I can deal with the little dents and stuff. But to find the whole freaking bumper ripped off and lying in the street...not cool. But, with all its other problems, I'm thinking it may be time to just let it go, rather than pay to fix it all.

That's pretty much the position I was in. My car had 116,000 miles on it and needed probably at least $1500 worth of work. It was just time to move on. I went through Carmax and it was a really smooth process. Their website is pretty full service. I found a location with the car I wanted ('07 Dodge Charger), then went and test drove it. There's no haggling there, the price is the price. I got a great finance rate, and I'm really happy with the car so far. If you don't have your heart set on a new car, I recommend going through them.

Thanks - I'll check that out, as I don't want a new car at all. I'm actually perfectly happy with my current older-than-dirt-mobile -- I just don't want to throw money away on it, so I'm going to look at other options.

I'm thinking about a 1970 Dodge Challenger. White.

I approve of your car choice.

They gave me a good price on my old car, too. I assume they'll be stripping it down for parts.

I want a new car - once I get one thing fixed, a month or two later I need something else fixed. Unforunately I can't afford car payments right now. Although I think once I do get a new car I might still get another Nissan - for how many miles is on it, it lasted longer than most other cars probably would.
You need a new car for the specific reason that I feel like if we get in an accident, my face is going into the hole where the airbag used to be.

Yeah, it's pretty scary. That plastic piece on the drivers side would probably go straight through my body - through my heart or lungs or something... you know, whatever.

At least we'll die listening to DMB.
I worry about this, too. I think my car predates standard airbags by at least 6 years!
Oh, her car is supposed to have airbags. It's just that the one in the driver side has been ripped out and there is just a hole in the steering wheel. And on the passenger side, it has been deployed and has been sorta stuffed back into where it is supposed to go.
That's reassuring....
Rob and Buff, this is assuming you're together and all that, but did you just have a conversation with one another on a messageboard? That shit's hilarious!

That's how we roll. Can't IM since we're working, so next best thing is this forum and my forum.
