The killing appears to be part of the flash forward that we get snippets of. The glare on the windshield makes it impossible to tell who was inside. After watching that a scene a couple you can barely just see a head but that's it. No way to tell who it is, just speculate.

And Olyphant is probably working with/for Frobisher as he met with the bearded guy from last season who turns out to be a crooked cop. The twists on this show just keep coming. I love it!

It's just odd seeing Hammond in that type of role. Is this the first serious role he's done.

Which makes Ellen a double target. Frobisher probably thinks she's after him. And I doubt the cop will have a problem killing Ellen to save his ass as Frobisher would sell him out.

I think Wes is killing his cop buddy that was working with Frobisher. He's doing it to save her because he's fallen for her or working with her now.
Surprised this didn't get any comments last week.

Frobisher is Patty's plaintiff??? AWESOME!
Loved that speech Frobisher gave to the oil exec. about Patty, (paraphrasing) "Don't fuck with that woman, she comes after you, bend over and take it like a man."

I am wondering if William Hurt's character is now out of the picture. He screwed over Patty and got paid off, I suspect someone may be coming after him to keep from spilling his guts if his conscience gets the better of him.
I'm guessing Hurt somehow finds out that his wife was alive and he didn't actually kill her. Then he goes back to Patty. But of course since it's Damages I will be 100% wrong.

I just have to say that I should have watched S1 again before this season started. I forgot about the other killer cop and I'm wondering what else I forgot about from last year.
I don't think you hire Bill Hurt (especially in Damages) to turn out for a few opening episodes and then disappear for the last load. There's still some major bombs coming that'll draw him back in, I'm sure.
Anyone else get a sense of a Shield-like scene when the crooked bearded cop from S1 shot dead the other crooked cop after he realized he was going to be investigated by IAD??
I'm not really in the know about stocks and that whole shorting or whatever it is that traders do. Does anyone have any idea what Kendrick has planned?

Oh yeah, Tom totally got a hummer from the hooker.
Kendrick is worse that Frobisher. The guy appears to be a complete sleaze. I honestly don't know what the guy has planned. I think the coordinates he keeps giving to Darrel Hammond have something to do with an address or where he has to meet someone. It can be a little confusing but as the season progresses we get more and more answers to the puzzle. I guess its a lot like LOST....or not.

So now we know who Ellen has in her hotel room. I really didn't see that coming and I'm wondering if it isn't just some type of set-up.

And who would have thought that Patty had so much heart. I really love that they are showing this side of her. It seems like Ellen is losing her humanity while Patty is opening up much more.

Wait, what do mean Paty has a heart. I'm guessing you're being sarcastic because she did send that one dude to kill Uncle Pete. I also like how they revealed that it was Paty that Ellen is pointing a gun at in the future. Judging by the look on Paty's face I doubt its a set up. In any event its going to be great to see how events unfold.
Patty didn't send Patrick after Uncle Pete. The phone call was from Ellen, not from Patrick. If you watch the scene again you'll hear Patrick talking about Patty not talking to her. But since you said that I'm going to go back and check again to make sure

ETA: I'm watching the end again and it isn't Patty the guy called, it's Mikey who I'm guessing is the guy that picks him up. He also tells Mikey they need to go before Pete's boss finds out.
Patty didn't send the guy.

And the season is developing nicely.
Hmmm. It sure seemed like Paty sent him. But I'll go back and watch it over again as well. If she didn't send him then why the guilty look on her face at the end while watching the little girl on the slide being led away by her dad. I guess it could've just been a moment of nostalgia for her knowing that whatever happened she was going to loose Uncle Pete.
What I too coulda sworn it was Parry who sent him, it would make perfect sense, theres no way Patty is going to tell Uncle Pete to give information up without knowing it would not hurt her.

Man this season is awesome.
No Patty didn't send the guy to kill Uncle Pete, what it was edited kind of cheaply to make you think she did.

The killer dials his phone, Patty's phone rings, but when she picks up it's Ellen calling her, and then it shows the guy the killer was calling (one of Uncle Pete's associates who was originally caught by the FBI).

How bad ass is it that Freamon got to make Rawls his bitch!

For real now I'm happy that William Hurt is back, same with Marcia Gay Harden. I'm still thinking that the Patty/Ellen hotel room thing is some type of set-up. 3 episodes left and I really don't want this to end.
Now that Marcia G. Harden's character knows her boss has been lying to her this whole time, will she decide to betray him and help Patty with her case against him? I think Rawls is going to get rid of the dirty cop that's blackmailing him.

The most intriguing part for me is the flashfoward where Ellen is questioning Patty. Now we know, or at least it appears, that there's a third person in the room. And from what I can tell Ellen shoots them NOT Patty. Also, sucks that the dirty Fed is at least in-part responsible for Van Peebles death. He'll prob. get what he deserves in the end.

Great show! Sorry that there's not more discussion on this here on the Tv boards.
The best part of the episode was Patty vs Jill. "Are you mentally Ill?"
Oh shit you're right Tati, I totally forgot to mention Patty's kid dating that Hot artist that works at the gallery. It was a nice twist to show him talking to the tatooed girl with all the piercings only to have the mature artist show up at lunch to "meet the parents".

My fav. part of that exchage: "I'll give you the family discount".
Another winner episode. Walter sticking it to Claire was aces.
"Go to hell."

"I probably will."

I'd been letting the episodes of this show collect in my Amazon Unbox player for a month now, finally got caught up tonight. This show is so awesome, I can't wait to see how everything comes together.

To me the winner this week was the final scene between Ellen and Patty. Particularly the last line. Rose Byrne is so much better than she was last season, they fixed all the problems I was having with her character.
I can't believe there are only two episodes left!

Regular network tv and the never ending seasons of filler could never be this tight.
Who the hell does Ellen shoot? The FBI agent said she shot Patty, but I don't think it was her.

I'm totally hoping that PAtty takes down Kendrick, but with only 2 eps. left that's highly unlikely. It will probably carry over into next season.

Ellen should have known that PAtty would figure out she sent the pics. She should've just let it go.
Mighty great episode. The Tom stuff was fantastic. So was Phil Vs. Patty in the Kitchen.

Can't wait for next week!
Great finale. Although I'm a little disappointed it didn't set up season three similar to how the season one finale set up season two.

But, my, oh, my, did Patty ever bitch-slap her son into oblivion.
Twists & turns after more twists & turns. Gotta love this show.

For all of the villians & over-the-top bad guys you regularly see in movies, this show continually has me thinking "these people are flat-out evil." Probably because it's not remotely difficult to buy these characters as real life people...
And they are the most "real life" people in Tv!

Amazing finale. I loved Fisk coming back. Patty's Dream with all his men at the table was a fantastic Cast shot, i want a movie with those guys!

I can't fucking wait for next season.

What happened to Wes? What happened to Finn Garrety? Michael? Frobisher?
Will he get back at the game next season?

Damn i love this show.

"There are worse things than Death...Like being a cast member of HEROES"
I know we didn't get a setup ending like S1, but the scene with Frobisher seemed to be a big hint at what S3 would be involving. Otherwise it was totally out of left field.
I thought that too, but it could be resolution to HIS storyline. He's coming back, he's starting a new life. Getting back together with his wife and kids, forming a new company, green company. Everything looking bright.
It was a good finale, except for the very end when Tom and his sister take down all the bad guys. Wrapped up way too neatly and conviniently. Either Poe or Kendrick should have made it out. Damages always felt fairly organic, but this ending felt like a typical network tv ending.

And the last scene was a shameful bow to leaving it open for another season.
As much as I love this show I think it needed to end here, unless they manage to come up with a briliant idea. It doesn't make sense that Ellen would let Patty of the hook much less come back to work for her again. But I suppose the reason she let Patty of the hook is because they want another season, not because it makes sense.

Favorite scene of the season. The kid needs to get far away from mommy for his own good.

Can't wait to find out how Ellen will come back. Would be fun to see her try a case against Patty.

Wes needs to come back.
Just finished watching the season finale and though I thought it was good the ending did seem a bit to convienent and also confusing. There were a lot of unanswered questions that clearly leave room for a third season. The main question i wonder about is what happened to Ellen? There can clearly be no ammends between her and Patty so then what kind of relationship will they have in S3?
They're going to come up with some contrived reason for Ellen to go back to Patty, like she needs her expertise to take down some new bad guy. I really think the show should have ended here, it would have made an awesome finale.
I don't know about "awesome ending". Again, there were alot of unanswered questions and character issues that were completely unresolved. The ending fell a little flat for me. I hope they return for S3 cause I'd love to see how some of the characters turn out.
Read what I wrote. It could have been awesome is what I wrote, not that it is. The reason the ending fell flat and there were unresolved issues is they want to leave these issues for the next season, since resolving these issues may make it tougher to come up with a believable plot for season 3.
You're probably right about them leaving things open for next season. I actually think that Patty masterminded the whole thing and the ending that we did see; but if that's the case then it all seems a little far-fetched for me.
I'm not a fan of legal thrillers but Damages has been consistently impressive. Glenn Close has been doing some of her best work in this and The Shield season 4.

Great to see The Wire alumni onscreen again, I don't think I've ever seen Marcia Gay Harden look more sexier, her first scene with the open blouse, just, damn. The final reveal of Purcell killing his wife is some of the best work I think he's done in years, it's a shame the rest of the series is Hurt in his usual unemotional state.
Kulick killing Kessler was set up nicely as most of the twists in Season 2 were. If they do go ahead with S3 I can only see them introducing a new character for Patty to screw over. Honestly, I don't think there's anywhere else for this show to go with Ellen or Frobisher, hopefully they'll stop after S2.
