I'll be in Atlanta March 3-14. Who's up for a beer?

Nunz.

Aren't you the government operative guy who can kill people five times before they're dead? I'll have a drink with you.

I am driver. I go left, I go right, I go straight ahead - that's it.

...

Hey, it's your guys' town, by the way. You choose the venue, and I'll be there.

Get outta town! No seriously, get out of town.

I'm up for a meal and possibly other.

Name the time and place.

Considering that one blog thread that's filled with ridiculous amounts of bile, I vote against having dinner at The Cheetah.
You guys should definitely take advantage of the opportunity to hang out with Frank -- hell of a good guy!
Screw that. We D.C. Chewers are a jealous crew.

You know you'll always be number one, DC. But I think that seeing other cities will be good for the relationship.

That said, how's the evening of Tuesday, 4 March?
That's the day all the baseball video games come out! How dare you!

Ok, I'm in.

Heh. I just mentioned to my wife that there isn't anything I want to buy until March 4th, when the baseball video games come out.

So, got a decent venue? I'm down by the airport.

Well, the fact that Atlanta is my hometown makes it hurt a little less.

I suggest you guys take Frank to the Clermont Lounge (if it's cool again).

There's a good Cracker Barrel down that way.
If you are looking to stay near the airport then there are a few spots to get food and drinks that won’t kill you right away.

Barbeque Kitchen – Just Food (http://local.yahoo.com/details;_ylt=...=vlv%2Fb1CYa2a)

Thai Heaven – Just food
http://www.yelp.com/biz/thai-heaven-hapeville

The Hilton Atlanta Airport has the Finish Line Sports Bar that is ok – Food and drinks (http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hote...0ADAE451.etc51)

Hammers Bar – Food and drinks (http://atlanta.citysearch.com/profil..._emporium.html)

If you are going to be out and about in the morning then the best donuts in the area can be found at Blanchards (http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/9/120723...ds-Bakery.html)

There are much better places in town if you plan on venturing out.

Depending on what day you guys pick to get together I may be able to make it. If you want to check out the hangar I can probably get you in.
Whoa, I'm gonna have to check out that fancy donut bakery.

When do guys NOT want to check out hangars?

As for the meet-up, I don't think any of us live anywhere down near the aeropuerto. Somewhere in town, or just north of it would probably be best. I hereby nominate any of the fine establishments within walking distance of my apartment. Heh.

Aw man, so crazy to hear someone else talk about Blanchards! Every birthday cake I've had for the last ten years has come from there. They do the most awesome shit. They'll do custom drawn birthday cakes that are hand-done. They did a Legend of Zelda cake for me when I was younger with the shield and logo. More recently I had them make a cake for my anime-lover friend and they did a black cake with a big red NERV symbol. Great.

Never had the donuts.

Too bad you're doing it the 4th. I'll be close to being back in Atlanta, but not quite. Ya'll have fun.

Surprisingly cool stuff happens in hangars. Mr. Cobretti and I have previously discussed our common interest in all things aircraft related.

Renn Brown, I’ve never had Blanchards cakes but the donuts are some of the best I’ve had in Georgia. They’ve started making maple donuts and that is something I’ve missed since I moved down here from Seattle.

I wish I knew why I can't edit posts from work. Anyway, I just notice that you guys were aiming for the 4th. Post up a time and place and I will see if I an make it.
Same here, post up the time and place when it gets closer and I'll try and head down as well.

I'll have a car, so anywhere in the greater Atlanta metropolitan area works for me.

Of which hangar do you speak, Sabre?
Delta TechOps (the big hangar)
http://www.airliners.net/photo/Delta...v_id=&next_id=

No big deal if you are not interested. Once you've seen one naked plane you've kind have seen them all.

I've never seen a civilian maintenance space. I'd enjoy a tour.
I'd say someplace either in Buckhead, Midtown, or such.

I'm always a Cafe Intermezzo guy. Apres Diem. The Flying Biscuit. R Thomas. And other places. Except strip clubs. Hate 'em.
I don't spend a lot of time in midtown and Buckhead. I'm sure there are good places up there, I just don't know where they are.

Here are two of my favorites on my side of town.

Brick Store Pub - Decatur
http://www.brickstorepub.com/

Fat Matt’s Rib Shack – Great ribs, small place
http://www.fatmattsribshack.com/

Let me know when you want to do that tour. I work Sunday-Wednesday 0700-1730 while you are here. I wouldn't mind staying a little late to show you around. Heck, I can usually afford to step out of the office for a little while during the day if need be.
I like the Brick Store, but once your group gets to a certain size (as in over 7 or 8) it's not the best location. It does have a huge selection of beers, though.

Nick, you're the patron of CHUD. Make the call.

I'm all thumbs for Cafe Intermezzo. It's been awhile since I've frequented.

OK, I'm hearing Cafe Intermezzo at 7:00 on Tuesday, March 4th. Would someone be kind enough to shoot me the street address?
I personally frequent the Park Place location because of size, that it's still easy to get to but not in the middle of Hades, and because they have that awesome outdoor patio.

Café Intermezzo Dunwoody

4505 Ashford-Dunwoody Road
Dunwoody, Georgia 30346
(770) 396-1344
Edited because Nick's faster than me and I had the wrong location. I wish I was smart.

See you there!
So, are we going to use Nick's beard as a global positioning device? Or whom ever gets there first reserve a large table under CHUD?
Frank, I haven't been to Cafe Intermezzo in many moons, but I'm pretty sure they have Patron. You know, if you're into that sort of thing...

No cheap booze for guests!
Unfortunately I'm out. I'll be in Charlotte most of this week for work meetings with the client. Hope the meet goes well and have a black and tan for me.
Planning to be there. See y'all this evening.
Yeah, I'll be there.

Guinness? If so, yeah.

A beer is sounding mighty good right now. If you see someone wandering around in a green shirt who looks a lot like a lost engineer please come and get me.

Junior airline pilot? That's a pretty good cover story, Frank. Gives you an excuse for constantly moving around and allows you to use some of your flight knowledge. They teach you well at Secret Government Assassin school!

Shut up, man. LeFors has been dead going on a month now, but we don't talk about it, because we don't want to be next.

Hi everyone! I am Joe LeFors and I am doing fine. Life is great! I am happy and healthy. This is really me, btw. Not some government operative who stole my identity. I'm not dead and buried under a pile of leaves in Rock Creek Park.

LOLZ DAWGS GEORGIA BOURBON SKELETOR LOLZ!

There were pilots and engineers there last night. It's always interesting to meet people with real jobs. I spend most of my workdays thinking of bad jokes to send to Nick and Matchstick.
