If it's been posted elsewhere, so be it. It deserves it's own thread:

ENJOY.

I'm not gonna mention my favorite parts, because I don't wanna spoil anything.

Holy crap that was fast. I'll see if I can dig it up elsewhere.

SHIT: "Update: We were asked by the producers of the video to remove it from You Tube because the clips were not cleared for reuse. The Annies were a closed event and the weren’t cleared for broadcast outside the event."

Too bad, as the voices were perfectly synced up and true-to-script... and Patrick the Starfish was Lina in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN. It was brilliant.

Damn, sorry.

This is incredible.

edit: and that was before I got to the final moments. Wow.

That was actually pretty damned funny. Love hearing Spongebob as Vito.

The Godfather bit killed me.

"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse" in Spongebob's voice = hilarious

I uploaded the video on my YouTube profile with no mention of Spongebob so it won't be found. I also have the Pineapple Express trailer, which has miraculously had nearly 5,000 hits in less than a day, making it the Internet's worst kept secret.

I don't even watch Spongebob, and "Ilsa's a cab!" cracked me up.

I can't watch it at work, so I hope it's still up when I get home. Aaah, crap - which will be really late tonight. Oh, well.

You're a gentleman and a scholar... of Awesomeness.

I looove how the Vito voice is not just Spongebob, but Spongebob with stuff in his mouth.

This just proves my point that Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick) is the most hilarious voice actor in the world.

I sent this to a friend who said it would be funnier if they improvised and said random shit a la the Juggernaut. I told him he was missing the point. I feel right.

Don't worry. You are, most definitely.

That kind of humor has it's place (GI JOE, TRANSFORMERS, X-MEN, 80's cartoons) and works because the dialog in the original was so bad There was some ridiculous stuff going on onscreen, so you could augment it. It WAS cheese and by adding curse words, innuendo, and more cheese over it, you just amplified the effect.

With these classics films, the dialog and performances are great, so to be subtle, you juxtapose something as simple as a jarring recast in the voices, and you get a much different type of humor.

It works because these actors know and understand the scenes. They get the little pronunciation quirks, the style of the dialogue, and then add their own twists related to their SpongeBob characters. The way Squidward/Clemenza pronounced "the west side" killed me, and "Ilsa's a cab!" was great, too. The way Tom Kenny played that Godfather scene, you could tell he'd watched it a million times and knew the character as well as anybody. Same with his Bogart.

Oh, God, "Ilsa's a cab!" was just priceless, as was Johnny Fontane's crying jag. Totally worth the wait to end my day once I got home.

I also love hearing Ingrid pronounce "Yes" with Sandy Squirrel's southern drawal "Yayass" and hearing Gary the Snail meowing as the waiter. Also: Sandy's "Yeehaw!" as the car pulls out of the driveway. And Patrick's "huh huh" laughter in the background during others' lines throughout.

The best part with that - again, going back to the Johnny Fontane scene - is when Don Vito is mimicking Johnny's crying and yelling at him to be a man, and they cut over to Robert Duvall doing the "huuh huhh" laugh at them (actually, is it Patrick or is it Squidward doing the Duvall laugh in that scene?). Awesome stuff.

That was Squidward, and equally awesome. I was referring to the goofy (Patrick as Lina) guffawing throughout Singin in the Rain.

"We're all a little nervous the 1st day..."
"Huh huh huh."

M-O-O-N, that spells hilarious.

Great stuff. And it is a whole different kind of funny when they're faithful to the original dialogue, as opposed to "Pork chop sandwiches!" or somesuch.
