Twin Peaks 3rd series

Thread Starter
OK, just watched the 2 series on DVD and 'Fire Walk With Me'...I've missed this.

Should we leave it there with Bob-possessed Cooper muttering into a smashed mirror about how Annie is?
Could Lynch resurrect 'Peaks' after so long?
Does anyone care?

I think the answer to all the above is 'yes', but SHOULD he?
Probably not.

Anyone have any links to where he MIGHT of gone with a 3rd series?...I'm just curious...

Well the 2nd Series nearly jumped the shark, I think any attempt to revive the series would be quite hideous.

There was supposed to be a Season 3 comic book, but Lynch nixed that idea. I think it would be a good way to continue things. Maybe someone should show him the Buffy Season 8 comics to show him there is life after death.

It's been too long.

It's probably more likely that Lynch would make Ronnie Rocket at this point, as unlikely as even that is. I'm pretty sure he said he was done with TP after FWWM.

I know Sherilyn Fenn's Audrey Horne was supposed to have survived the bank explosion in the Season 2 finale. It would have been interesting to see what direction her character would have went.

I never thought it would work until I saw FWWM, which seemed to set up a lot of stuff for a third season
still I doubt we'll ever see it
dan o'herlihy and jack nance have died, and even though the last episode left their fates up in the air, it would kinda suck to have tp back without pete martell
I think the biggest problem would be frank silva's death though... what's twin peaks without bob?
I think the hardest person to get back these days would be kiefer sutherland, and he played a very minor role anyway

anyway I think to work the show would have to be less focussed on the town and be a more meandering exploration of the mythology of the black lodge
plus that way you could dump useless characters like james freely

actually I don't really care if the show comes back, but I want another frost/lynch show on tv (cable?) pls and thx

A Twin Peaks show without Sherilyn Fenn and Kyle McLachlen is like Coffee with the Cherry Pie.

Lara Flynn Boyle be dammed.

It's over, and should stay that way.

The best we should hope for is being able to see all the bits of FWWM that were cut after the disastrous Cannes screening.

I think we should all speculate or fanwank or what have you about where this series could've and should've gone. Dale getting possessed by BOB could be ripe with story possibilities that unfortunately will never get realized.

Oh, and season two should've been the same length as season one. 12 episodes at the most. Would've given them more time to think of decent plot lines rather than Mulder in drag and a possum.

Twin Peaks is dead and shouldn't be brought back. I thought FWWM pretty much showed where Lynch stood on that issue. A new show written by David Lynch, for HBO/Showtime, is something I've always hoped for though.

Personally, I thought that was a great way to cap off the show.

As sort of a spiritual follow-up, maybe Lynch could do a documentary series about Wasilla, AK.

I'd be all down with a Twin Peaks series that didn't have the same characters but was connected to the old series. Kinda what they did with Battlestar.

Though it still had its moments, I thought the series really started going downhill after Leland kicked the bucket. I really never cared for the whole Wyndam Earl plotline, although it did provide the show with more than a few great moments.

The Wyndam Earle stuff has a lot more punch if you've read the Cooper book, as all the backstory is in there.

Honest confession: I watched the entire series of Twin Peaks right up until the possum episode. That was my breaking point. I just couldn't stand how terrible the series had gotten. I have the Gold Box Set just sitting here, on my mantle. I've heard great things about the finale, but I don't really know if I can stand anymore terrible episodes without being reminded how great it was. Plus I can't work up the energy to watch it. Should I go for it? Is the finale worth it?

I could see the Producers intended to hook up Audrey with Cooper but had to change their minds due to McLachlan's objections. Instead we got Heather Graham. Bad idea.

I mean who could resist this?

Many episodes in the middle of S2 are absolutely terrible, but the last four or five have some really good stuff, and the finale (particularly the half directed by Lynch) is must-see.

I thought the series was faltering, but I'm glad I stuck it out till the end as well.

The lead up to the finale, and especially the Lynch directed half of the finale is pretty good. And, it helps you watch the film (Fire Walk With Me) as well, which is definitely worth watching.

Lynch's final episode is great, and I don't even remember or care what led up to it, I just skip right to it after Laura's killer is "caught". Cooper likes Heather Graham, that's pretty much all I need to know going in.
The Twin Peaks story was probably all played out, but I would love to see Lynch do a new cable series in that universe, something where they only do 10 shows a year and no restrictions on content.
