ANY redeeming qualities?

I enjoyed it when while watching it, but when I thought about I realized it was a let down. My problem is the ending

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I think Emma Roberts character should have succeeded and Sidney should have died. What makes the first one work is that you don't know what is going to happen next. By part three, you know Sidney, Deweny and Gale will survive. Speaking of Gale, she should have died too, so half way in the viewer knows no one is safe.

I've neglected a shit ton of horror movies from the past few years so, I'm about to start making up for that.

First:

then:

...also got one called The Possession laying around. Seems kinda generic. Anybody like that one?

Got sidetracked on the horror movies and ended up watching Dom Hemingway instead before I started those. What a wonderful wonderful movie! I loved it!

In light of recent exciting news that it is joining the likes of The Godfather and Back To The Future, by becoming part of a high quality cinematic trilogy, I am about to watch.... London Has Fallen

Thank god for John Carpenter.

Um, Ghosts of Mars aside.
Ghosts of Mars ain't even that bad. It's his silliest. But it's still Carpenter. Village of the Damned is his blandest. Those are his two worst I guess. I don't even count that thing he did after GoM..

I agree with this.

Something about Carpenter's ability to instill dread that plays so well so late.

The world is asleep, when the bad stuff comes, you are helpless.

Assault and The Fog play great late late night too.

Equinox is fun. Fairly impressive as well, considering its low low budget creation.

Finally caught X-MEN: APOCALYPSE.  I'd heard a lot of bad things about it, but I actually got a huge kick out of it.  It's totally fucking absurd, but it embraces that and tell it's yarn.  I honestly enjoy the new trilogy more than the first one.  I find it a lot more entertaining.  Is this one a big turd dropped on the build up of the last two?  That seems to be the majority opinion, and maybe it's even "correct".  I found it to be a satisfying Part Three to the utter lunacy of the other two.

That's pretty much how I feel. It's like one big Saturday morning cartoon that just embraces the melodrama for better or worse. It's Bryan Singer letting out loose, which I wish he did for his Superman snoozer.

My favorite horror movie....I always look forward putting it on.

I should revisit this one.  It's always left me a bit cold like the rest of the director's work... which is too bad, because they're always so stylishly put together in a way that makes me feel that I should like them more.

So Savage Weekend was garbage (love the boom mics!) but the poster is incredible.

My Bloody Valentine remake was pretty enjoyable. Upset I didn't see it in theatres.
Tom Atkins death was great.

Don't think of it as a horror movie. That's not what's going on.

Heh, quite funny once it kicks off. More about the build up than the payoff.

Both the kid and the mum were great.

THE HOWLING + AMERICAN WEREWOLF is about as perfect a double bill you can ever do. Mad at myself for not getting to them this October.

Check out LATE PHASE if you haven't. A pretty awesome recent werewolf flick.  As someone said, it's like It's like GRAN TORINO with werewolves..

I have watched Late Phase and I liked it. I thought it was awesome seeing the guy from The Last Starfighter in it.

Another great double feature? The Fog and Halloween. Worked well with me.
