Thanksgiving tradition for my wife and I is to spend the evening watching Black Christmas. Unfortunately my daughter had a high fever and we were at the hospital. So one we get the bed tonight we are making up for last night. Also finally upgraded to the bluray this year.

I remember going to dinner with my friends family at a great Chinese place called The Hong Kong Inn. It was like early December and as we were finishing his Mom told us she wanted to show us her favorite scary movie.

We were 13 and Black Christmas spoiled the hell out of us. She was so happy she could show us something from the early 70s and appreciate it.

Still to this day when I eat Chinese food I’ll think of Black Christmas. Great flick.

Fun bit of rock n roll trivia, watching Black Christmas is a holiday tradition with the Alice Cooper family.

Black Christmas is without a doubt one of my favorite horror movies of all time. I used to screen it every December for my college film society and would have an annual tradition where I'd watch it either Christmas Eve or the night before. I haven't watched in 2 years because one of the subplots suddenly hit too close to home for me. I think I'm finally ready to watch it again this year.

Better? I don’t know. I think the fevers and lack of appetite and general crankiness is due to her molars coming in. I didn’t know there was going to be a teething part two. But thanks for asking!

Only the pilot is available for now on Amazon Prime, but I have a headache from laughing so hard from just the first 15 minutes.

Ok....I need to say something about this. This is the last time I EVER buy...even as a goof...any of those 20 movies for like $4 DVDs. I mean....I knew what I was getting when I bought the shit (and I do mean shit) but this one just broke me. Actually it was one of the other ones that drove the final nail into this particular coffin but CvTA...,I mean, I was expecting something so bad that I didn't think anything about it could make my jaw drop. But it managed to. And then some.

But it was a 2007 movie called Blood Predator that blew my mind. It's like Tommy Wiseau made it or something. May be the most inept movie I've ever seen. Literally down there with Plan 9, Manos, The Room....you name it. It had that rare quality of being bad in a such a way that I honestly could not be sure if it was something where they knew they were making shit and just said "fuck it...let's just go over the top and try to have fun" or if this was an honest attempt at something suspenseful and scary. If there was any winking at the camera....then the acting and writing and directing were all so bad that it wasn't clear at all. I buy this shit sometimes for the fun of it to watch in my bedroom while falling asleep but this nuked the shark..
