I am about to watch the final episode of LIFE ON MARS (BBC) and then either make fajitas or take a nap, depending on how I am feeling (if I am more hungry than sleepy, it will be fajitas)

Moon.

Unforgiven.

Again, first time. That's gonna be the leitmotif for a lot of things in the near future, I think.

After I asked my uncle to be the officiant at my wedding this fall, he recommended that I watch Little Murders, so that's right at the top of my Netflix queue.

Finally watched the last Hammer movie last night:

To the Devil... A Daughter

Richard Widmark v Christopher Lee--c'mon, you know it's worth a look!

Tonight: Don Siegel's Riot in Cell Block 11
post #4460 of 5505
About to start up They Died With Their Boots On.
Had the weirdest double feature last night - a friend invited me to Drawing Restraint 9, an artsy, mostly dialogue-less movie about whale hunting starring Bjork. After which we went to my place and, channel flipping, ended up at the bizarre baseball flick/sex comedy/romantic comedy Bull Durham, with Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon.

I'm watching:

Too Hot ... Too Big .. For TV!
The Manhunt They Had To Put on the Giant-Sized Movie Theatre Screen!

Don Siegel's The Lineup

"When you live outside the law, you have to eliminate dishonesty"

Up next:

He may be blind but he don't need no dog.

He's lucky he can't see what he's up against.

Master of the sword. Avenger of the truth. Blind as a bat.

Rutger Hauer is Blind Fury

It's hot as hell and I'm taking in a matinee of They Died With Their Boots On

Isn't that called Bottle Shock? Where is father is played by Bill Pulman? Alan Rickman is pretty damn good in this as well.

Carriers.. Not so good.

Tonight I'll be watching Unforgiven. Yes, I've never seen it.

Yes! I thought it was called BS but for some reason that name sounded wrong when I thought of it.

It's amusing but not quite as good as it could have been. It feels sort of aimless, but it has some great scenes with Pullman

I'm a huge wine buff so the fine just bit a sweet spot for me.

My favorite scene? SPOILERS

When they discover that the wine isn't worthless but is in fact some kind of super wine.

END SPOILERS

PS It sucks that there is no equivalent of SIDEWAYS or BOTTLE SHOCK for the pot smoking crowd. I'm about to tuck into some awesome looking bud from Vermont and it would be cool to have a movie that celebrates the whole experience like wine drinkers do. Smelling the bag, ETC

I am about to watch NORTH FACE on NETFLIX INSTANT. I was going to watch it last night or maybe Saturday night, but I got distracted.
So I didn't get through NORTH FACE last night either. I was planning on playing RDR tonight but I've decided I don't really like playing it at my moms. There are too many distractions and it's hard to zone out

I wanted to reserve THE ROAD from REDBOX but I realized that my mom and her credit card (which I'd need to pick it up) are in the UK and I can't call my dad at his work to get his card number but I don't remember his cell phone#! The worst part is I got in a fight with him today because he wanted me to carry my cell phone on me at work and I didn't want to. If I'd taken it, I'd know his number and could reserve THE ROAD

Arg...

So, tonight I'll make my third attempt to summit the NORTH FACE

EDIT!!! Great news! While I may still summit tonight I also will be watching THE ROAD I realized that I'd sent myself a picture message from my dad's phone and it had his number attached. Thank god.

In other news, It's a sad day when my dad says I can reserve one movie and I choose a new Viggo Mortinsen film over a new Harrison Ford film (EM)

Vincent Price in the House of a thousand Dolls.

The tv synopsis reads;
Quote:
A sinister nightclub magician and his partner hypnotize young attractive innocent girls and spirit them to the House of One Thousand Dolls. How sinister can you get?
Ooh-er...

Tonight: What Have You Done to Solange?

Watching The Fly remake for the first time in probably a decade. It's on FMC, so it'll be edited, but that'll do for now. I just noticed that Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum have the same hairstyle.

Probably why his "you me and the baby make three" idea might have worked if she'd only given it a try! They must be a close match genetically:P

So it's commercial free and HOLY FUCK HE JUST PEELED OFF HIS FINGERNAILS!

Herzog's BAD LIEUTENANT. Kinda stoked.
I've been wanting to see that Jake. Not being employed at the video store any longer has put a dent in my getting to see new stuff.

Cyborg 009 - Assassin of Flash
Arg.. I have not done *anything* today. I didn't even play RDR which is what I intended to do. High speed internet provides too many distractions

I will instead make an effort to finish up NORTH FACE before it gets too late or before I get too tired, whichever comes first

EDIT: Frak it, I'm just going to watch last friday's BILL MAHER and go to bed. I need to start sleeping at normal hours anyway, and starting a movie about a climb to the top of a tall mountain is not the way to go about setting my internal clock straight.

Noted ice cream tie-in movie A Man Called Magnum

Gonna fire up Nine and see if it's as bad as I've heard.

FMC doesn't edit their movies. Lots of good finds on there.

Just watched The Road.

Going to hang myself now.

I recommend Fantastic Mr. Fox as an antidote. Seriously, the films share many themes.

Stagecoach. My first John Ford movie, my first John Wayne movie.

EDIT: The version on Netflix Instant seems pretty low quality. Should I hold off and wait to watch the Criterion release, which is in my queue?
This is mind blowing. Really?
I'm not big on Westerns. I've seen the Fistful of Dollars trilogy and The Wild Bunch, but that's about it.

We're lucky that Stagecoach still exists in any form at all, but I'd expect the Criterion to look superior. In the meantime, watch Rio Bravo.

Escape From LA just started on TV. I have decided not to change the channel.

EDIT: OMG, the effects!

Very true. I'm getting ready do a marathon, finally filling in the gaps of his stuff I missed. Tonight: In A Lonely Place and/or On Dangerous Ground

But first it will be:

The Story Of A Man Who Dares To Stand His Ground-- Until They Blow It Out From Under Him!

When You Push Too Far, Even A Peaceful Man Gets Fighting Mad!

Jonathan Demme's Fighting Mad

Fonda rocks it!

Cartoon Music Video I made called TEX AVERY BLOWS HIS BRAINS OUT. Don't worry, you'll like it.

Oh man. In A Lonely Place would probably make my top5 Classic Hollywood movies, and On Dangerous Ground is just a perfect little pulp movie.

I'm watching Mackenna's Gold.
