while I will root for Steve, my heart lies with Yamaguchi!

Raleigh, NC/Carolina Hurricanes represent!

Damn. I saw the title and got excited for a bait thread.

Music provided by Jones, the human beat box.

I wonder if Guttenberg's partner will be from the Blue Oyster Bar.
He'd better do a dance number to the Police Academy 4 theme song:

Have you heard the word that's on the street?
There's a brand new heat that's walkin' the beat!
They're CITIZENS ON PATROL!

If Adam Carolla doesn't do a routine featuring "Strokin'" by Billy Squire, I will not be interested.

We could probably turn it into one.

*ahem*

Hey, Gutt, I think I heard Diva say something about your mother!

Shit... I had the wrong Gut(t)enburg the whole time! I thought he had a thing with printing presses.

Holy crap, I have a friend at another board who's a figure skating fanatic. He's going to fucking freak.

Oh, I know.
The years have apparently not been kind to Mahoney.

Judging from that picture, Guttenberg has been injecting himself with a combination of Michael Eisner and Joe Piscopo DNA.

Guttenberg still freaks me out during the opening of 'The Boys from Brazil'...

...there, I've said it!!

Always time for a classic video clip: PROCTOR!
Oh man, when I think of how much Proctor made me laugh in my youth. God, he was the shit.

I don't think I ever caught the "salad" joke until just now.
Hey, the Police Academy films work on many, many levels.
I never understood how Proctor went from being Mauser's assistant to Harris's. Did they trade him like a minor league prospect? I think a prequel is in order.
I'd like to think that Mauser wrote a nice letter of recommendation to Captain Harris on Proctor's behalf. After all, it wasn't Proctor's fault that Mauser's rival academy went belly up after Mahoney and company went back in training.

Screw Guttenberg. It's time to change my handle to McCoy Fan Club.

I'm sure it was at least partially Proctor's fault. The details of the Police Academy 3 ending escape me, it was always my least favorite of the Guttenberg-era Police Academy's...
Disagree there, making Zed and Sweetchuck members of the academy in part 3 was a real stroke of genius. I know my funny bone thought so.
Wait wait wait, Kevin, you thought Back in Training was worse than In Miami Beach? Get the fuck out of here.
I said Guttenberg era. Miami Beach is what they show on a loop in Hades.

I prefer Zed/Sweetchuck as mortal enemies. Plus, Police Academy 2 has whitest-of-whitebread Guttenberg going undercover as a street tough. Now that's comedy.
In other news: Adam Carolla throws away all man cred. Revealed to be a giant 'mo.
The problem with MIAMI BEACH was the attempt to bring in a wannabe Mahoney in the first place. I don't blame Matt McCoy for taking the role, it was the chance of a lifetime. But the producers should have realized that they had a strong core of established characters like Hightower, Tackleberry, and Hooks who had blossomed over the course of the original 4 films. Adding McCoy and Wayne Gretzky's wife was a risky venture that had little potential to yield any comedic gains.

Which of course was buoyed by the masterstroke of Rene Auberjonois.
Plus they carried over the least funny characters from Citizens on Patrol, like that big fat guy. They couldn't scrounge together enough money to keep David Spade on for one more movie? Or Bobcat? Or that old broad who teamed up with Tackleberry?
I kinda like pronouncing Auberjonois "o-Ber-Juh-NO-Isss."
