The Signal Atlanta Premiere?

Anybody know if there's a premiere or particularly cool screening for The Signal in town as it opens this weekend? I'm anxious to finally see it and would like to catch it with an interested crowd of would-be fans rather than a typical cell-phone blasting Friday night audience.

The premiere is tonight at the Plaza Theatre on Ponce de Leon. Unfortunately it's invitation only. I wasn't able to get a seat (not a big surprise, I was only an extra in the film and friends with a couple of folks involved -- I knew I didn't have a shot when another friend of mine who is in tight with more of the cast and crew couldn't get a ticket either). However, the after party is open for folks to attend. It'll be at Django in Midtown starting at 10:00 p.m.

I'm told some of the cast and friends are planning to catch a screening of the film this weekend, but details have yet to be settled. I'll let you know once I hear more info.

Well, I'm glad they are doing something but kinda sad that we can't all enjoy it. I'm going to be catching it tomorrow night at Landmark, I guess. They had an afterparty at Django once already--it was the Comic Expo Poster Signing Afterparty. I guess those folks like to party!

I interviewed the three main actors this afternoon, and they couldn't get some of their friends/family in for tonight.

Yes, these people enjoy partying.

Justin and I have been in several stage productions together, and I know someone who got one of his few passes. I had already seen the movie and she hadn't, so I didn't feel cheated out of the whole thing.

And if Bruckner makes it big I've got some great blackmail photos from my anniversary party.
