Say Something Nice About a Band/Performer You Hate

I'm in a hugely bad mood this morning about work so I thought I'd try to deflect it by saying something nice about an artist I can't stand. Maybe finding the good in something I hate will help me find something good in something I usually love.

I like the zen nature of the lyric "thank you india/thank you providence/thank you disillusionment/thank you nothingness/thank you clarity/thank you thank you silence" in Alanis Morissette's Thank U

I like Hilary Duff's tits.

I like that Limp Bizkit hasn't released an album in almost three years. Hopefully they can keep the streak going. Come on, guys! Don't let me down!

One day, the members of Creed will die, and their decaying corpses will fertilize the land, helping beautiful flowers to grow.

I can't prove that the members of U2 drown puppies, no matter how much I suspect it.

Shakira doesn't sing like she has down syndrome all the time.

DaveB isn't going to come into this thread and tell us how wrong we all are, is he?
I like the guitar tones on Limp Bizkit's records.

Good Charlotte.......Good Charlotte........Sorry I can't come up with anything.

I suspect eventually he will. But it will be in a thoughtful manner for while DaveB is a god, he is a kind and generous god. (Though misfit's claim of U2 not drowning puppies is kinda hard to prove being what with it being a negative and all.)

I want to rub my junk against many, many female nu-country singers.

Yes, but I also admit they may not, which would be a positive.

Real one: Garth Brooks' cover of "Hard Luck Woman" is pretty good.

Kinda hard to do it worse then the original but still true.

People with far better and more learned taste than I like Rush.

The Fiery Furnaces give the try-hards something to do on a Saturday night.

I'm fairly certain that Dave isn't going to come in here and tell you that your opinions are wrong. Fairly certain.

Jimmy Buffet campaigns hard to save the Florida manatee.

Now if he can just drown in a giant margarita, I'd be happy.
I'm sure that all the members of Nickelback are generally nice fellows.
The lead singer of My Chemical Romance is very good at applying eyeliner.

The members of Tokyo Hotel are so young, they have still enough time to learn how to sing and play instruments.

Dammit! Took mine.

Ummm, well, I once had a decent salad at one of his Cheeseburger In Paradise restaurants.

If you haven't watched this yet, you might want to.

For my part, Kanye West apparently had a very devoted mother. Sure, she kind of filled his head with conspiracy theories like the CIA invented AIDS to keep the black man down and raised a complete asshole ... but she was devoted.

Blink 182 gave a whole generation of frat boys a reason to believe that you could be in a fraternity and punk.

I'm mean hell, if that one guy can dred his hair that well, he must be able to have some skill at playing instruments.

If one could only hear it.
Are these guys getting big in the states now actually? We seem to find sublime ways to make up for WW2.

Honestly I haven't seen anything (Although I'm pretty retarded when it comes to music) except I shit you not there was an article in Slate not to far back about them. Yeah, Slate freakin Magazine.

This is a good thing?

I tell ya, if Aiden can spend that much time thinking about what kind of tats to put on their bodies. Surely that kind of thought can be put into really deep goth-rock. Yeah.....

Tokyo Hotel in Slate Magazine? "Head explodes" - Now I have to go off and google.

ETA: Nice fun-fact in that article: "...Tokio Hotel's debut U.S. release, which came out on Sept. 11....". All in all it´s just a little bit of history repeating....

They gave them something to believe in, man. And, sometimes, that's all a frat boy really needs.

Travolta, Booyah

German Emo Boys

And like any Slate article it's wordy and boring. Enjoy

Three Dollar Bill Y'All wasn't nearly the abomination the rest of Limp Bizkit's discography is.
Limp Bizkit's cover of "Behind Blue Eyes" didn't cause any school shootings.
Phish seemed to be really good at having a good time with all their fans.

Scott hates Shakira, so she must be doing something right.

311...
Well at least they're consistent.

I like how Limp Bizkit has popped up like 4 times already. I'll echo Devildoubt in saying Wes Borland is/was pretty much the only thing going for them.
Three Doors Down's "Citizen Soldier" video will do wonders at sending idiots to their deaths, thus cleaning up the gene pool a little bit.

Rush doesn't work on girls.
They are female repellent.

Mine:

I would say that Alicia Keys can play the piano.
It's always a good talent to have.

The Decemberists are very good lyricists.

Ripoll's techno-stuff is usually in a recognizable time signature.

I kid, I kid.

Slipknot occasionally attempts something melodic before plunging back into the depths of their nu-metal angst.

Lenny Kravitz had a mom who was on the Jeffersons, a dad who promoted a bunch of famous jazz musicians, and an ex-wife who was arguably the coolest Cosby kid. So he goes way back with some interesting famous and talented people.

That's why Subliminal Verses was great. They found a balance.
Plus, the singer stopped trying to do a Death Metal growl, and settled with just a powerful shout, and it's actually a good voice for metal.
Fall Out Boy used to imitate A New Found Glory. Now they've figured out how to suck by themselves. Way to come into your own there, guys!
Dave Matthews has probably created some new Bela Fleck fans.
The lead singer of 30 Seconds to Mars was pretty good in Fight Club.
Plus Jared Leto looks fucking hot in eyeliner.

That was actually the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread but I put Slipknot because I just have so much more hate for them.
The Dead had fans whom would give you free drugs in the parking lot.

Justin Timberlake's done nothing but surprise the hell out of me as an actor.

Cliched but true:

Jennifer Lopez was fantastic in Out of Sight
post #50 of 129
Morrisey was in The Smiths.
