'strewth. A friend of mine did overdubs at the 604 studio and said Kroegger was the nicest guy. He's really active in the community with charities and he helps numerous indie bands in the area. His music still sucks great big donkey balls, though.

Oh, yeah? Well, if he's such a nice guy, why does he hate my ears so much?

I'm gonna get hated on for this one, but...

Sublime gave idiot sandal-wearing fratboys their own Kurt Cobain.

Justin Timberlake does have good taste in women.

And I like him on SNL. If he abandoned music for sketch comedy he'd be awesome.

I thought everyone liked Sublime. What gives?

This is why I shouldn't read this shit in class. I get nearly kicked out for laughing.

Very wrong.

EDIT: Consider smiley faces put beside the meaner of those three responses.

Hey, I've been hating on Sublime since page 2, way before it was cool.

I honestly forgot! Oh well, there's repeated artists in this thread.

Dave Navarro probably has a nice fortune with all that money he hasn't spent on shirts in the past 20 years.

Or you could go with "Dave Navarro played on Nothing's Shocking, Ritual De Lo Habitual, and the self-titled Jane's Addiction album" and leave it at that. The guy's pretty useless nowadays, but there's no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I don't think it's personal, Dave. He clearly hates everyone's ears equally. Of course having said that he's a nice guy doesn't prevent me from assuming he's made some sort of Hot Potato-esque pact with the arch-daemon of Music Directors in order to ensure constant rotation on radio stations the world over.

A lot of people really like that album he did with the Chili Peppers too. I'm not one of them, but anyways...

Me, either, but those Jane's Addiction albums are pretty great, even if they don't sound quite as impressive now as they did in 1991 or so.

Honestly, I couldn't get into Jane's Addiction that much. He's probably a good guitarist, but the amount of reality-show whoring he's done (I call him Dave Navarro, Professional Rock Star) invalidates him for me.

That's because, in retrospect, it's easy to see that Jane's Addiction wasn't much different from Guns'n'Roses, and Appetite is better than Nothing's Shocking. (Which is still a great record, but...)

To be completely honest, I've never listened to Appetite for Destruction all the way through. I was too burnt out on the singles for it to ever even become a palatable thought.

Based on what I have heard (which is probably all of the album out of context, actually) I think there are some comparisons to be made, but I still give the edge to Jane's Addiction in terms of musicianship and creativity. All the delay pedals and insane tom work, plus the multi-part epics. They're at their worst on the straightforward cock-rock/funk that's sonically the most similar to G'n'R ("Idiots Rule," "Standing in the Shower...").

Jessica Simpson sure knows how to wash a car. She's welcome to soap mine up anytime. I'll provide the beer and lawn chairs, gentlemen.

True story... I was at a Mets game and in between innings, they started playing The Final Countdown, because somewhere in this world there's an unironic love for it. As soon as it came on, I walked into the aisle and started dancing like Gob. Moments later, someone a couple rows behind me who missed the dance sits back in their seat and the stadium plays my dance on the jumbotron, and that person, unaware I was around, claimed, "That guy does a really scary good Gob." In a life of minimal accomplishments, that's near the top.

Avril Lavigne's latest video was shot at a shooting locale from Karate Kid.

Ha ha. He never made an album with The Peppers. You must be confused, probably because there was such a long time between BSSM and it's follow up, Californication. But there was certainly no album in between those two. That's just silly talk.

And DaveB has never listened to Appetite all the way through? That's just weird.

While not a fan of the band myself, System Of A Down not only has not caused a mass genocide they actually do pretty exhaustive work in trying to get one recognized.

Although several people seem to actually like Breaking Benjamin, I don't have to listen to a single note by them.

Yeah, it's really great to hear their songs every five seconds on KROQ. Just great *Reaches for gun*
