Cool! They made one of those "what if?" figures, using morphing technology to capture the early days of casting when Spielberg was torn between hiring Patrick Swayze or Luis Guzman to play Indy.

Hopefully, Sideshow will also make a figure that looks like Harrison Ford at some point.

It's bizarre. He's like Yoda in TPM, you know something is "off" about him, but you can't really put your finger on it. His face looks good in the background(although still "off"), but looks way too big for the body.

Hyperbole aside, any wonkiness in the current pics is due to the paint apps on the initial prototype (where Sideshow often drops the ball due to rushing for solicitation).

The unpainted sculpt shows that the Harrison Ford circa 1980-81 likeness is absolutely there. It's actually quite brilliant:

It was sculpted by Trevor Grove... a 20 year old "kid" who's already one of the best in the biz.

Here it is as digitally-colored production paint master:

That is a pretty fantastic sculpt. Too bad those prototype photos don't do it justice. I've just always been unimpressed by Sideshow's final product. A+ for effort and enthusiasm but only a B for execution, in my book.

Then again, I'm not that thrilled about the Cinemaquette Indy either, and I was thoroughly blown away by their earlier work on ALIEN and TERMINATOR 3.

Overall, I prefer Gentle Giant for these types of things.

Forgetting this is CHUD, I assumed you were talking about a car.

Are you sure that's a good idea, I mean do you really want the likeness of Harrison Ford starring out while you getting undressed, taking a dump, masturbating, or having sex?

I don't think anyone who buys this would have to worry about that last one.

Yeah, good point.

Yoda in TPM isn't "off", he looks fucking terrible. Apparently the sculptors didn't consider that if you live to be 900 years old, you're not going to look significantly younger at 870.

Real Yoda:

What the fuck is this:

Say what you will about the CGI Yoda in Episodes 2 and 3, but at least he resembled Yoda, and not Yoda's inbred cousin Yehaw.
