The Termintor Special Edition DVD........or is it?

Hey everyone I need some help. I just went online to try and buy the original Terminator. The problem is that the original Special Edition is discontinued, or maybe not. The edition thats out now just says MGM at the top and from what I can tell it has the same special features as the special edtion.

See im confused because there are 2 covers. Theres the one that is clearly marked special edition and is discontinued. Then theres the one that you can easily get and has the same cover but just says MGM at the top. Are they just getting the 2 editions confused? Ya know listing special features for the special edition on the barbones one? I know they pulled this shit with jeepers creepers. If you buy the new one all you get is a commentary and it has the same cover situation. And if you look up jeepers creepers it lists the special editon features on the barbones one.

So does anyone own the DVD that can help me out. I need to know if the terminator with JUST MGM written at the top has a bunch of special features, thank you.

I don't know. I have an older Terminator SE DVD.

No,the one with only mgm at th top has only a trailer for special features. Get your ass to ebay for the special edition.

I had a lot of trouble with this dvd... at one point I owned the special edition with the documentaries on it. I lost it, then bought it again, but they falsely advertised it as the special edition when in fact it was a bare bones disc. Then heard the SE was discontinued, so maybe they got their packaging mixed up? Who knows.

I've got the original special edition with the hologram artwork. It has all the special features, but no full length commentary. Only commentary on the deleted scenes.

waaaaalt... Try Amazon and type in terminator in the search. It is there on the second page of results. It is not new, so you have to buy it from the sellers. I do not advise doing it. If anything, scour the used bins and sections of every store that has a used section, FYE MEDIA PLAY, SUNCOAST, EB, GAMESTOP, etc. you might have luck. The last one I saw was at a PEP BOYS!

Same here. They should re-release it with some cutesy title like The Terminator: Fuck You Asshole Edition. I also got the T2 Extreme Edition in a metal slipcase on a shelf full of paper slipcases, which seem to be all that are available now.

EDIT: Here's the holo-covered Special Edition on eBay.
