Some of you don't know what I'm referring to, but a lot of folks have inquired. To answer you... no, there's no more elite forum. Too much trouble to keep active after the transition and I think the elitists and the new folks need to make nice.

Or former elitists can go to that other MB where they bash us. Either way. There's your answer.

It was intended as a haven during a time the boards were quite shafty, to be fair. That said, it ended up just being redundant and part of the problem rather than the solution.

Star Chamber was a group of people (myself included) who were kind of like moderators of all the forums, but we were anonymous so you couldn't single out who was posting. Chewers didn't take to that very well and it was dismantled shortly afterward.

The "Elite" boards, nicknamed by us common folk, was a CHUD MB 2.0, created for those Chewers who thought the boards had denigrated into non-movie talk and whom wanted to have a "higher level of discussion". It basically became a popularity contest, and as Nick said, people who were members had to vote for you to be included. i don't know how the original members got to be there in the first place. I suspect their names had to be Devin and Andre. Many of the Chewer Elite have defected to another message board.

Edit: Just looked up that movie Chris, and yeah, I guess we were kinda like that. The boards were out of control and Nick couldn't oversee it all on his own, so he created the SC. I can't for the life of think of the group of people who dedicated themselves to destroying CHUD. They had a website and everything.

Yeah, they wanted to diversify and I happened to be a female, long-standing Chewer. I don't even remember who else was in SC other than Micah. It was a bad experience all around.

I was on the Elite Boards and maybe posted in there twice, although around that time I wasn't posting much at all on any board, Elite or not - seems like as we got closer to the relaunch, the 2.0 boards really weren't used that much, but I could be wrong about that.

What was the problem that led to the formation of the "ELITE FORUMMMM" anyway? Was the brand of 'hey let's jerk each other off' not happening between cool enough people, so all the cool people migrated to the megaboard so that they could only jerk off cool people?

I don't understand, and maybe it's just me being extra-bitter thanks to this cold, but a board above all boards strikes me as...uh...fucking lame.

This could just be a diversion thread. There is probably a new Elite forum that no boby can see and they are taking down the names of all the people that post in this thread.

And they have a system that adds positive invisible REP that only they can see everytime anyone of them posts.
