Oh really? That's nice. That's really nice to hear that, Strax. Very nice indeed. I hope your second choice is there. That would be really great for you. FUCK YOU.
All right...where the heck is Anderson. He's holding up my pick!
Yeah, where the hell is he?
Is it fair game to just go on in less than an hour when it is 11?

I believe that's the rule.
Seems to be a head to head race between you and me then if Anderson doesn´t show up in time.
Yeah...but that's okay. Unless you pick the movie I have in mind. Then I'll hate you, and hope that rabid ferrets climb up your pants leg.

Indeed. With the exception of Straw Dogs, I've been more than happy to eliminate stuff from my master list. Less for me to decide between. Good snag with Network. I'm less enamored with some of the big genre stuff being taken: Alien, Close Encounters, et al.

My parents died in a horrible car crash last week. And my sister died of cancer just yesterday. My brother you ask? Trust me, you don´t even want to know.
Now I have to snag away your pick. Just as a principle.
I have a few more tricks up my sleeve.
I almost went with Apocalypse Now. Almost.
Since the first group is finished, I allowed myself to continue. From how I understood Kirby, that modus operandi is fair game. Otherwise kick me in the nuts.
Anyway how could Apocalypse now end up on the second day? Well now it is off the table. I went for the sure shot just to have some aces up my sleeve left.
There's still a LOT of really amazing films to pick from. But then, its a good day or two til my next pick, so maybe I should keep my big mouth shut...
Anderson...I got this gun. Wanna hear what it sounds like?
Well, not exactly my FIRST overall choice, but Young Frankenstein was definitely up there. I was upset about losing Blazing Saddles, but that was actually my second choice from Brooks. Young Frankenstein was my first, so I'm really glad I got it. To me, this is possibly the funniest movie of the decade (though one of my other potential choices is always vying for that honor). All the performances are beyond great, especially Wilder as the titular doctor. The best part of the movie is that I've seen it countless times, and it still manages to make me laugh hysterically every single time I see it. Plus, I'm always catching new things, like a gesture I never noticed, or a facial expression that I missed. Just a great, great film.

Badlands and Apocalypse, you guys have just inspired me to do a Sheen double feature this weekend (or as soon as I can turn my Netflix around.) Awesome selections that... sort... of... sting.

Yep. You can go when either of the two things occur: 1. All drafters from previous time slot have gone 2. Your time slot comes up.

Hmmm... A Freudian slip about your next pick?

Thanks for the head-up.

Perhaps. Or perhaps I'm trying to subliminally plant films I have no interest in selecting into everybody's subconcious. Even I don't know.
Watch out for Bailey, master of psychology.
Jesus Christ, this round is a fucking massacre for me so far.
Losing Close Encounters and Network is expected, but upsetting. And Apocalypse Now. Danm, there is a lot though. One at least that I am utterly shocked remains unpicked.

It might be my favorite film of all time. At the very least it was at one point in my life. Everyone keeps saying it, but nobody's picking it. Fine with me. I'll happily take it.
Man, do I love Network. There was no way it was going to last, but it hurts just the same.
Seeing Young Frankenstein get taken made me yell "Noooo!!!" at my computer screen. I was hoping I could sneak that one in a later round. Damn you, Chris.
Dirty Harry in the first round. Huh.

I don't like that pick, but then I don't like the movie so I suppose it goes without saying.
Dirty Harry?
Well, to each his own I guess. That wasn´t even on my list, unlike most other picks so far. But good to know that we seem to differ in taste and therefore won´t be crossing blades anytime soon in this draft I suppose.

ETA: Or just what Kevin said.
A little early, but all eight before my slot have gone and I need to stop the bleeding.
Clockwork Orange needed to go First Round. It was looking at me funny and begging to be picked. But i just couldn't give up Alien.
Pretty much the sixth or seventh best cop movie eligible just came off the list.
I'm third in the 1 PM rankings, but the last bracket is finished- can I draft?
Network - Gtreat Pick!!!

Dirty Harry was on my list - but for the last round. I want an exploitation type pick for my final pick, my midnight showing, and that was in that category - but not a first rounder.

I am VERY happy to be getting Butch and Sundance, with it qualifying only by a couple of months.
Wisely chosen Richard. I was torn between Apocalypse Now and Clockwork Orange. And I´d love to have some Kubrick in my picks. Though I reckon it will be only a matter of time until we will have all Kubrick movies from that decade drafted.

As long as everyone in the previous slot is done, the next slot can go. I don't think there's any kind of order within the slots.

How can you clarify direction with all that DIRTY FUCKING COCK IN YOUR MOUTH?!
Now I'm actually sort of leaning toward an all comedy draft, depending on whether or not any of my other comedy pics last until the next time I can go.
All right, full steam ahead.

Well, especially since there's only one left.
Werid that I didn't have Butch Cassidy anywhere on my list. I guess I must've thought it was '68 or something. I think it got picked a little early, but I do love it lots. I haven't seen Dirty Harry in so long I don't feel fit to comment, but I was surprised to see it go int he first round, too.

I think it is better than Blazing Sadles, which went before it. It was one of four films I really wanted to get (after yesterday's onslaught) and 2 of them were taken before me today (Apocalypse Now and Network). I'm actually trying to convince myself the fourth one will last till tomorrow.
I thought Butch and Sundance was earlier too.

And I have to get cracking tonight, because there's a very real chance my entire list is going to be gone before my next slot.

Blazing Saddles in much funnier. Butch obviously has a little more going on than just the funny, but so does Blazing Saddles, in its way. I think t's the better film.

McCabe & Mrs. Miller is a great pick. Maybe the best, along with Badlands, of this half of the draw.
Blazing Saddles was on my list, but only if I couldn't get Young Frankenstein.
Tons of great comedies left, in my opinion. Nothing wrong with the Mel Brooks ones (Blazing Saddles was definately a top ten option for me), but some absolute masterpieces remain.
I haven't managed to see any of the other films that were mentioned today, though it's more because they're either already checked out at Blockbuster or if they are available, the disks are in terrible condition.
My other pick for the day remains untouched. Hope it can make it till tomorrow.

The rest of the list got massacred.
