The NOT ON DVD thread

Thread Starter
Let this be a repository for films that are unavailable on Region 1 DVD that we are on the hunt for.

After receiving a Jodorowsky education in the past year, I'd really like to find his movie "Tusk", which is considered IMPOSSIBLE to find.

Scavenger Hunt
Phantasm II
Eyes of Fire
Disney's Kidnapped
The Raimi/Coen Bros. Crimewave, but only if it has some extras. I already have it on tape, so just being widescreen won't cut it.
Good idea to have one of these threads post-revamp. My want-list has been pretty much the same the last few years, though now minus STONE COLD.

I COME IN PEACE
THE PERFECT WEAPON
THE SIEGE OF FIREBASE GLORIA
THE CHALLENGE
ROLLING THUNDER
STEELE JUSTICE
THE BIG GUNDOWN
THE OUTFIT
SABOTAGE ('96)
TIMEBOMB
MISSION OF JUSTICE
TRUE VENGEANCE (though this one I at least have on Region 2)

I've never seen it but I'd like MARTIAL LAW 2: UNDERCOVER to be out on disc before I resort to buying it used on tape.
All those titles just bleed together into one giant direct to video explosion...
Yeah, I thought about putting a made-up title like VENGEFUL JUSTICE in there to see if anybody would notice.

EDIT: I just plan on editing my list as ones come to me.

Here's a list that's a couple months out of date (ALLIGATOR, FROM BEYOND, & BLADERUNNER are released!). There's a cut of WATERWORLD that's 40 minutes longer, really?

You forgot Godzilla vs. Megalon!

Regarding War of the Gargantua, I believe it and Rodan are set to be released by Classic Media after they put out their last two Godzilla DVDs, which is good news because their releases have been nice.

All true... I have crappy R1 releases of G VS MEGALON (Alpha Video) and RODAN (Classic Media's 1st attempt) already. Sure would like better versions and will gladly get them when they come out.

The 2 I mentioned specifically never got a R1 DVD release, at all.

I would give anything -- anything! -- for a DVD of Cyborg Cop 2 (aka Cyborg Soldier).

EDIT: Also, has The Park is Mine ever been out on DVD? I'd definitely buy that.
I would go out and buy Howard the Duck if it was on DVD, why? cause I'm pretty sick in the head...

Twice Upon a Time (1983)

White of the Eye (1987)

Urgh! A Music War

The Decline of Western Civilization trilogy

Just thought of another one: Richard Linklater and Eric Bogosian's SubUrbia. Haven't seen that one in years, thanks to the VHS being out of print and HBO never showing it anymore.

If any Lucasfilm production needs the whole "childhood raping" CG VFX upgrade for a DVD release, it's HOWARD THE DUCK. Seriously, take out the dwarf in the duck suit and CG in a Howard that looks more like the Howard in the comics. George should just go crazy changing things in this film because it can only get better. Especially if he adds more shots of young Lea Thompson crawling around in those little white panties.

Oh, wait...he'd have to spend money to do that. Nevermind.

A New Leaf (Is it too much to hope for to see May's cut?)
These Are the Damned (Check out Joe Dante's commentary on the trailer at Trailers from Hell)
and how can anyone forget Satan's Doom? It's a classic!

The Opportunists with Christopher Walken and Donal Logue. I believe there is a Region 2 version for this movie, but no Region 1.

You must have missed the production window. You can find pre-owned copies fairly easily.

For me, Night of the Creeps is a film that needs to be released on DVD; and I keep waiting for the TV show Ed to clear away the jungle of music rights to finally be released.

Sweet. I had seen some copies on e-bay, but I assumed they we're a crappy VHS dub to a DVD. Me want.

Hey LC,

I bought Timerider years ago at Best Buy for $7.99. Amazon's got it now for a rather steep $29.95.
