Swayze close to death - Page 2

Don't cry! Let it turn into something else!
You don't think people were being that nasty? Reread the first few comments. I've been reading Chud for years and the place is full of people who enjoy laughing at others' miseries.

When I cross over into Maine once a month, I go to a small town that is the same size as mine and has the same rural culture as mine. People are completely different. They are more ignorant and crude. They yell at each other in crowded stores. Once, I was in a checkout line and a woman who was right next to me started screaming at her kids when they were about 50 feet from her. She was literally yelling in my ear. Of course there are people in Canada and other countries who are like that, but unfortunately, when I go to the States I'd say it's the norm.

If you look at alot of the comments made by many of the people here who are Americans, and look at what some of the soldiers have been doing in Iraq, you'll notice a psycological similarity. Obviously your actions aren't similar, but there is a callousness that is common in your country.

Seriously, what was so nasty about paraphrasing a quote from one of his most beloved movies?
<sarcasm>I love blanket statements about my culture.</sarcasm>

I prefer specific statements directed towards specific people.
Like this one:

Go fuck yourself, SneakyPete.

Oh please, this is not about Americans or the soldiers in Iraq. It's proven that anonymity in the internet makes people behave like complete morons. Stop making it about a particular nationality, I can point you to many forums in other languages that are far worse.

Says the guy with a nom de Chud!

And I hardly think anything in here is particularly nasty. It's not like someone is wishing for his death, it's just gallows humour.
Nobody in this thread wants Patrick Swayze to die, I'm even going to go out on a limb and say that damn near everyone who has posted wants him to live. Most of the dumb jokes in this thread deal more with his movies than his actual condition.

Canadians always think they're so high and mighty because they never invade other countries or start wars based on lies. Well pin a rose on your nose.

Tilde goes after the S, it represents the letters C, H, R, I, M and L...and I really should have put a grin face after that post (wasn't ragging on you, El)

Wow, your Sunday drives to Maine sure do make you a great authority on American culture! I had a ChupaChup lollipop once. I now hate Spaniards.

Also (and I'm assuming you're Canadian here)- I hate it that the vast preponderance of Canadians don't know how to spell "A lot" and "Psychological". Maybe I'm just being callous.
As a moderately famous Canadian once said,

"I'm sorry I caused all that cancer."
I appreciate what Sneakypete is trying to do. Will the man who fought of Russkies in Red Dawn and kicked the crap out of a guy who drove a monster truck in Roadhouse take this anti-Americanism lying down?

No way. Pete is taking one for the team here, giving the Swayze something to live for, something to FIGHT for, and I for one salute him for it.

P.S. My WIFE had cancer last fall and is still going through chemo, so let's try to keep our eye on the difference between having a sense of humor and being a ghoul.
Also, a lot of people were cracking jokes because this was a bullshit national enquirer story. Now it turns out it was only half bullshit.
He has cancer, but the Dramatic FIVE WEEKS TO LIVE!! stuff isn't true.
I remember graduating college and leaving behind a teacher who looked healthy as an ox. About 5 months later we got postcards saying he'd dropped of pancreatic cancer. It's pretty much the worst brand of cancer you can get from what I understand.
I was such a fool to believe, such a fool to believe, that 5-weeks-to-live rumour.
Actually, Minsky, those were typos.

As for my Sunday drives into Maine making me an expert on America, well, I'm exposed to your culture every day via TV, internet, books, etc...
I'm going to lie to you right now, I want Patrick Swayze to die.

All we're asking is for you to keep the sweeping national generalizations under your big ugly lumberjack hat.

Are you really this naive and ignorant? Or in keeping with your excellent line of thinking, is this something ingrained in your superior Canadian "culture"?

I just wonder what's going to happen to Ponyboy and Sodapop if he doesn't make it. Boys Home for sure.
I think the reactions were more to the fact that someone was putting weight into a story from the National Fucking Enquirer.

Nike Cancer(TM) is up there.

Bodhi can't swim that last wave just yet. He still has so much more left to do.
That cancer has hungry eyes.
I want Swayze to die almost as much as I like to shock the testicles of bewildered foreigners.

By the way, I've been exposed to Bryan Adams, and that tells me that your country is an abomination on the earth.

Yes, but only children in third world countries get that one.

Don't forget Celine Dion. Pancreatic Cancer in music form.
With Jeff Healey now dead, and Swayze possibly soon to die, which Road House star will die next??

Kevin Tighe
Polar Bear
Ben Gazzara
Wesley's Cronie Whose Leg Twitches When He Shoots Shotgun
post #82 of 199
Terry Funk. His arms and legs will fall off when he comes out of wrasslin retirement for the 820th time.
Every day we have left with him is a gift!

The reason Canada seems like such a magical place is because nobody actually lives there. You've got roughly 32 million people living in the second largest country by landmass in the world. California alone has five million more residents than your entire country and they're all crammed into a fraction of the space.
Kids come on, come see daddy wrestlin'! It'll be fun!

*Terry's kids scream as daddy gets barbed wire wrapped around head*
post #85 of 199
I'm going to interrupt this thread to say how much I love that picture ElCaptain posted. I laughed my fool head off. 2+2 = Cats indeed.

You may now go back to hoping Swayze dies and dissing Canadians, you souless fuckers.
Back off Pancreatic cancer, seriously.

I wish Swayze could take his cancer and "let it turn into something else".
Patrick's not gonna die in 5 weeks, folks. If you're gonna do gossip, get it from credible (or more credible than transworld news) sources:

Swayze's publicist issued a statement:

Quote:
Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic. Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.

There has been too much Canada bashing for far too long ...
I have full faith that Swayze will rip that cancer out by the throat and then have epic sweat sex with it's girl. And then after the cancer is dead, make potteries with it's ghost.

Look, we're sorry about that. He was supposed to be a one hit wonder but it got out of hand. Please accept Arcade Fire and poutine to try to make up for it.

Do you get double points for bashing French Canadians?
