Tonite on Underground: two fun cult flicks - FREAKED + UHF

Tonite on TCM Underground: LITTLE DARLINGS. One of the great teen movies of the 80's. Kristy McNichol and Tatum O'Neal are both excellent. Funny, poignant, and honest. A true cult classic.

Looking at this week's schedule, there's some really good stuff showing including Prince of the City late Tuesday night. I haven't seen that one in years.

Turner Classic Movies has 5 "contagion" themed films in a row tonight, starting with The Andromeda Strain. Movie marathon includes the ignored but really rather decent John Sturges thriller The Satan Bug, where we get to hear Richard Basehart with that amazing voice of his threaten "Los Angeles will be my epitaph!"

Some good craziness coming up:

This Friday night the 13th at 11:00 PM EST -- HAUSU!

Friday the 27th at 11:00 PM EST -- the batshit POSSESSION with Isabelle Adjani and her underground freakout.

I'm watching Hausu right now. That's some messed up stuff right here.

Three Abbott and Costellos on today (Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, The Mummy). Great alternative to the awards ceremony bullshit.

And for Friday night 1/20: The Town That Dreaded Sundown! Hopefully this means some kind of disc release is imminent...

Everyone dvr POSSESSION. Wonderfully insane film.

Thanks to TCM I've finally seen The Lion in Winter. The British make being hateful and scheming look classy.

They're showing Heavy Metal at 3:45 am.
