and blaxploitation mindmelter DARKTOWN STRUTTERS -- Sat @ 10:30pm

The Silent Movie Theater is on Fairfax, in case you don't know. And the films will be presented with sound.

Bronson-Fest

Hey everybody I am the programmer of the not-so-silent movie theatre aka the cinefamily.

Thanks for the mention, man. I was a bit hesitant to plug it myself since I haven't posted here before, but I do think you guys might be glad to know about our festival celebrating the most kick-ass, snake-eyed, brute of an action star ever: Bronson. We got 6 films in four Fridays, including THE FAMILY.

By the way, this is hard-as-leather, terrifyingly tough 70's Bronson. Not campy, senior citizen, Canon 80s Bronson. Those have their own appeal, but if that's all you've seen don't think you know your Bronson. It's like judging Stevie Wonder from I Just Called To Say I Love You. These are badass films.

Hey Sam. We probably got your email from my email list at Cinefile Video; I ported it over once I started the Cinefamily--a little kick-start to our new enterprise.

And yes, there's cuddly-fragile Bronson--there's also thuggish, character actor Bronson, or should I say Buchinksy, "the heavy", from his early days. We just watched this 23 minute reel of trailers I borrowed, running through his whole career....there's a lot of those early ones...
