It's out there...

it's in stores April 15th (same as The Roots and Gnarls Barkley)...

but so far, I dig the fuck out of it....still familiar, but manages to progress the sound....as with all Portishead albums, I'll probably have a lot more to say once it has digested a bit more....

I wasn't the biggest fan of the self-titled album, but the band that made Dummy will always have my full attention no matter what they do.

I'll hunt it down.

I probably am the biggest fan of the self-titled album, and I love Dummy as much as everyone else does.

This album will single-handedly make my spring break.

I'd given up on the possibility of getting a new Portishead album. I just got a new Raveonettes and Nine Incha Nails album and now this. I can't believe it.

Fuck. Yes.

Portishead is my absolute favorite band. Just learned about the leak a few minutes ago, rushed in here to post about it, and found this thread. Nice to know there are others around these parts that are excited about this.

Downloading it now (along with the new Goldfrapp, which I'm hoping is the shiznit).

So I just got done Audiosurfing the entire CD.

And I don't think I like it. Which is is such a fucking bummer.

Hunter is pretty great, and Machineguns and Threads were alright too. But most of the tracks just feel really ...insubstantial. It's very different from the previous stuff, which is fine, but it's not 'better' different.

I'll give it another shot on the way to work tomorrow. I really want to like this.

Wow that is almost depressing to gear. I will still give it a go when it comes out, but now my excitement has died down.
