Why bother with Night of the Demons ? It is not exactly 'classic' horror movie material. Its story is not even that original or inspired. Is the direct to DVD horror market such that a total B horror movie would have enough name value to sell it ?

My problem with the state of horror films and home video is that the straight to video horror doesn't measure up to the b-movies of the 80's. A film like Night of the Demons 2 would not get made in this day and age. Theatrical movies aren't like that for some reason and the made for DVD horror films are missing something that my favorite low-budget 80's horror films had. I grew up renting films like night of the demons and, sure, some straight to video movies are fun (Wrong Turn 2) but somethings off.

Well, I tentatively like Jace Anderson and Adam Gierasch, Toolbox Murders was fun and, god help me, I enjoyed Mortuary. They can certainly have Night of the Demons with my blessing, I don't really care for the originals anyways. Good Article.

The Night of the Demons franchise is not some holy cow, so go ahead and remake the hell out of them. It just seems weird that they would even bother. Yeah something seems off in B horror land. Maybe it is because I have grown up, and my expectations on my entertainment are raised. Or it is a drought of good horror movies, with some exceptions. I used to be a big horror fan, but now I barely watch any new ones. So thank god for this site, so the the good ones do not completely slip by me.
