Share your Pile of Shame

Hey all, forgive me if there's a thread like this already.

Do any of you guys have a Pile of Shame? (Games that you really should play, and really want to play, but haven't gotten around to.)

Mine currently sits like this:

Games I own:
HL2: Episode 2
Blue Dragon
Burnout Paradise
Persona 3
Odin Sphere
Resident Evil 4 (Wii)
Super Paper Mario
Psychonauts
Beyond Good and Evil (I can only play this one if the 360 gets a patch for it though)

Games I don't own:
COD4
Uncharted
Metriod Prime 3
I thought this was going to be a thread about games you own that you were ashamed of. For example, I own Vampire Rain. Shitty game but I only paid 7 bucks for it.
I also took this to be games that you were ashamed to own. Unfortunately I have nearly every Superman game released on the consoles since the original NES. I even pre-ordered Superman 64.

My list is going to make people cry.

Should've Played But Never Did
Beyond Good and Evil
Ico
Psychonauts

Started but Never Finished
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Half-Life
Legend of Zelda, The: Link to the Past, A
Legend of Zelda, The: Majora's Mask

Own but Have Yet to Touch
Legend of Zelda, The: Twilight Princess
Super Mario Galaxy

Still Need to Rent/Buy
Elder Scrolls IV, The: Oblivion
No More Heroes
Up until very recently, I hadn't played fallout.

I posted mine over on my blog/podcast (see signature! Fuck yeah for having no shame!) but here it is in all it's unglory. I always figured that any game that has no real single player or a loosely defined level of defeat (like Burnout. when is it done? When I get all the cars? All the races?) to be just something to play and not really beat.

Mark of Kri, Jak 2, Jak 3, Rogue Galaxy, Wild Arms 3, Digital Devil Saga 1, Digital Devil Saga 2, Final Fantasy XII, Summoner 2, Radiata Stories, LaPucelle Tactics, Disgaea, Trapt, Persona 3, Zone of the Enders 2, Onimusha 3 and Odin Sphere. That's the PS2 backlog and Resistence for the PS3 still needs a beating.

Full Spectrum Warrior, Kingdom Under Fire, The Warriors, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood (or whatever the hell the second one was called), Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Jet Set Radio Future, Phantom Dust, Fatal Frame 2 with Unreal Championship 2, Sid Meier's Pirates! and Deathrow as my "unbeatable" games, all on the original Xbox. Viva Pinata for the 360.

Eternal Darkness, Viewtiful Joe and Pikmin 2 for the Gamecube.

Games I Own But Never Beat
Doom 3
Shenmue 2
Max Payne
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Both Buffy games
Luigi's Mansion
Beyond Good And Evil
Eternal Darkness
Timesplitters 2
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Star Wars Rogue Leader
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Silent Hill 3
Nightshade
Gradius V
Twisted Metal Black
The Thing
Blood Omen 2
Onimusha
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Games I'm Ashamed To Own
State Of Emergency
Tenchu Wrath of Heaven

I'm completely lost how someone can own a game for more than a week and never play it, though.
I have one game I never finished.. The Bard's Tale for the Ps2.

I try my best to beat every game I buy.. and will take precious time to decide which game to buy. Deciding on the mood I'm in and how many hours I want to invest.

I just bought Shiren the Wanderer on saturday and expect to play this on my long flight to California this weekend.
When thinking about my pile of shame, I think games I'm currently playing don't need to be on the list. So even though Super Mario Galaxy isn't on the list right now, that doesn't mean it won't be in a couple month. That said, my list is something like this:

Viewtiful Joe
RE4
Eternal Darkness
Everything or Nothing (this isn't backwards compatible is it? I realized that AFTER I traded off my X-Box 1)
Max Payne
GTA: San Andreas
Wait, is this a thread about being ashamed because they have not played certain games ?
The title is dodgy, but the intent is clear: what games did you buy but never really played?

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (but to be honest, I didn't buy it, it was given to me as a 'fuck you, I don't want to hang out with you anyway' birthday gift).

You should be proud of this fact, not ashamed. Proud that you had better uses of your time than continue playing that shitpile.
My shame is the number of games in my backlog.

Lost Odyssey
Blue Dragon
All the Guitar Heroes
Rock Band Drums
Oblivion
Mass Effect
Metroid Prime 3
The Baldurs Gate series
Fallout series

Geez.

Those of you having not beat Eternal Darkness should be utterly ashamed. Thankfully, all is not lost if you own the Wii.

Downright shameful! The first Buffy was awesome; one of the few games I actually played through more than once. Twisted Metal: Black was a gorgeous game, especially for being a launch title! And even though much of it was shite, my rabid Legacy of Kain fanboyism is upset at neglecting any installment in the franchise.

I used to pick up lots of games on a whim and never get more than a few hours into them, but fortunately I've broken the habit. That was back when I tried to justify "collecting" games, which resulted in a lot of wasted money, though at least I can still pop Ikaruga into the Wii or Symphony of the Night into the PS2 should the mood strike me. (It never does.)

Right now I only hope to get back to Oblivion at some point, being only 20 hours in. I feel no shame about not finishing games anymore, though. If I get bored, I get bored.

I've put a lot of those games in for a spin, but haven't given them enough time.

Yeah I think the name is a bit strange too, but it's the one used on 1up and NeoGaf.
My list of unfinished games go like this:

Okami
Final Fantasy XII
Rogue Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy
LoZ:Twilight Princess
Oblivion
Odin Sphere
Mega Man X collection
Viewtiful Joe
Metroid Prime 2
Ratchet and Clank:Future

I would love to finish off Final Fantasy and Rogue Galaxy but I can only go so long without playing an rpg game until I have to start overs just so I can remember the story.
I know the whole point of this thread is about the shame of not finishing some excellent games, but you should really finish Ratchet & Clank: Future

I know, but I see even more delay now that I have Smash Bros. Brawl.

The Wii was released. Then I got a 360 after Christmas. I'm still on the first disc, even. I think it's the part where some giant monster is after me and I need to get an elevator working. I know I'm in some tunnels and there are exploding barrels all over the place.

I know where you're coming from. My brother and I actually gave this an official name, called The Dreaded Gaming Funk. Basically, it's where you're surrounded by too many games and are overwhelmed so much that you don't know where to start. I reached the pinnacle of my "funk" when my PS2 got modded and I started trying to collect/burn games more than actually play them. I've since learned to leave modding alone (hey, I like contributing my hard-earned $ to developers who deserve it) and make it a point to play one game at a time only, unless I'm focusing on the story/campaign in one game while strictly playing Multiplayer in another. I never wanna go back there.
Most of these games I have since sold, but these are my great shames.

-Majora's Mask
-Devil May Cry 3
-The Mark of Kri
-Call of Duty 4
-Paper Mario
-Metroid Prime 3
-Resident Evil
-Resident Evil 4
-Ninja Gaiden (NES)

Yeah, I get there too. It usually seems to happen when I haven't finished a game in a while and I have about eight with at least five hours invested in them. I find finishing a few games helps.

Also here is a list of games that I have logged over 15 hours on, but probably won't finish ever:

• Majora's Mask
• Ocarina of Time: Master Quest (the one that came on the bonus disk for pre-ordering Wind Waker)
• Breath of Fire 3
• Wild Arms
• Dragon Warrior VII
• Dragon Quest VIII

There is nothing smameful about not playing video games.
I think the smame(?) here lies in buying them, then not playing them.
I'm sitting here looking at The Orange Box, Motorstorm, and Ratchet and Clank, thinking "I should really finish those". With all of them it's the same story; get to a difficult section get tired of constantly trying and failing then move on to something else, never to return.

I still have some PS2 games to work on as well; RE4 and God of War 2.

Shame
Motorstorm isn't worth finishing. After you've played a handful of events, you've played essentially everything the game has to offer.

Ratchet and Clank however, Irish, I will not forgive you for.

It's the game that keeps giving.
what the fuck McIrish play Orange Box like yesterday

McIrish fails (wins?) the thread.
What the hell is difficult in Ratchet and Clank?
When he gets to the tournament, I haven't gotten past that.

On the Orange Box I finished Portal and I think I'm halfway through Half Life 2(can't seem to get a handle on the gravity gun). Haven't tried Team Fortress 2 as no PS3 chewers seemed to be playing it.

You need guns.

Lots of guns.

I'll put it back in this week. That's actually why I posted the other night to motivate myself through public shame and guilt.
Good man. Once you've finished that you can come back on GTA.
