Coffee Table Cosplay

I can't believe but it's true. I came across this off of Time's website. Some photographer took studio shots of cosplayers and make a book out of it and Time has a photo essay of it.

Detailed, yes. Incredibly strange and a smidge sad, you be the judge.

Those were some weak ass cosplayers.

Hey, I've got no idea what it's the book but it's out there for your purchase.

No pictures of overweight men dressed as Sailor Moon?
Dammit.

What's worse -- cosplaying from some obscure anime or cosplaying a character you made up yourself?

We had MegaCon last weekend here in Orlando and the local paper has this gallery of some of the cosplayers there. The 50-year old Morpheus is ... interesting....

Okay, I'll be the first man to step up and admit-

I would screw some of these cute Cosplay chicks so hard their cheesy home-made costumes would disintegrate from friction burn.

Don't get me wrong, lots of them are scary and/or sad social rejects who I wouldn't hit with a stone from 30 paces.. but some of them are actually rocking hot bodies under those outfits.

Also - I play shit like Mass Effect and WoW while surfing for the latest leaked photos from the Watchmen and quoting Masters of the Universe on a message board.. so I'm not exactly the epitome of cool over here.

Also also - Asian girls are my kryptonite.

BTW, dressing like the mailman is not strictly considered cosplay.

Do people dress up as The Overfiend at cosplay conventions?
Tentacle rape is popular among the otaku, right?

Damn straight. Those two should take on some Dalleks and fight each other. First one to tip the other over, wins.

Like it's not enough that he can kill us all with his bare hands (and I do mean all of us...at the same time) but he also has to rub it in that he's fared well in the romance/family department. The only way it could be worse is if he had a cool job like being a pilot or...what...

Damn you, Cobretti!

The Countess?

This thread title makes me think that there are cosplayers that enjoy dressing up as coffee tables.
I recognize very few of the "characters" in any given set of cosplay pics, and it always makes me feel a little better about myself...

This is me at Animecon '07. I'm in the background standing in front of the green logo. I was there for Finncon, but I hung around to check out the cosplayers. I was really surprised of how popular the whole thing is and how good some of the costumes were. It's amazing how this whole phenomena has become so huge in just a few years.

There were so many people taking photos of costumes I was sure I would be in some of them. The next day I went to anime forums to go through all of peoples photos from the event and found this one with me in it.

This is the same girl from that GI Joe thread dressed up as the Baroness ...
