Which is stronger? Dark Side Vs Light Side?

The Films and the Expanded Universe (Comics, Novels) have demonstrated on how quickly and easily Dark Side Force users can gain abilities when compared to normal Jedi. They have more destructive powers and rate of learning seem to be more impressive. In fact, the Jedi seem kinda wimpy when compared to the Sith. Too passive.

I suspect that Dark Siders simply push themselves to the limit more strongly. Jedi training is mostly based on Control and this impedes this short-term progress.

Any opinions?

Opinions on how a fictional concept works? Even in the context of the SW universe, the Force is an article of faith. Nothing about it can be disproven. There is no way to objectively debate it.

There is an answer given in the movies. Yoda says the dark side is not stronger. So he is either right or wrong, but only in the context of a fictional story, so arguments are pointless. This could only turn into a thread about the merits of the EU versus the films, which is also a pointless argument.

Pondering this question is like worrying whether or not Peter Parker will be able to pay his rent this month.

Well, Yoda said the darkside wasn't stronger, and he's green, like Kermit, and Kermit seemed like a stand up fellow.

But.......Yoda sounded like Fozzy the Bear, and Fozzy was kinda weird, so.....

Let's distill this down to the very basics:

One side shoots lightning at people. The other side...fucking runs fast or some shit. I don't know.

Anyway, most leading scientists agree that even if you run fast, you probably can't outrun lightning.

On the other hand, it does seem to be awfully shitty lightning and the one guy killed at its hands wasn't killed by the lightning so much as he was killed by being dropped hundreds of stories out of a window.

So the answer is that they both suck.

You need only look to the prequels, which the one repeating factor among combatants is that Jedi can jump over a Sith's head while they stand there stupidly, yet Sith cannot.

or It's completely retarded to sit around and ponder, I dunno.

The Dark Side is clearly "stronger", so strong in fact that they had to establish a rule of only two Sith at a time (and it only took 2 to almost complete wipe out the Jedi from the universe).

Actually, Yoda was just withholding the truth from Luke, out of fear of what happened with Anakin. When in doubt, go to the source:

I would like to toss my hat into the ring and suggest that the transcendent power of the Light Side makes it more powerful. Jedis can turn into ghosts, and Siths can't, thereby demonstrating the Truth that one must work longer and harder to gain everlasting life. Short cuts lead to short life spans, even metaphysically.
