Blockbuster Rental Exclusives.

My local Hastings goes to Wal-Mart, buys a buch of copies, and rents them out.

They did this with Halloween last time, and I imagine they will do this with The Mist Tuesday. Is this illegal?

Are you going to turn in Hastings?

Turn in? No. Blackmale maybe. Could get me free rentals.

If any of the stores around here did that, I'd kill my Blockbuster membership in a flash. Fucking shit works. Cause I want to see stuff like Finishing The Game but not own.

My local Movie Gallery pulled this with the Protector. Okay, and that's all fine and dandy that they had a copy, but they were renting out the two discs of the two disc set(2 different cuts of the film) separately.

It's perfectly legal. I still don't quite understand it, though I think it comes down to the Weinsteins wanting their way and not being able to have it. Who cares anyway? Most Blockbuster exclusives are complete shit.

I would suggest going through that blackmail scheme and use the free rentals to get all the Sesame Street spelling videos you can.

I kid I kid.

I've yet had to go into Blockbuster to pick up an exclusive. Shit, I even bought the 2-discers of the GRINDHOUSE flicks previously viewed at Hollywood, because Blockbuster ONLY carried the single-discs, exclusively...

Netflix rents out the 2 discers as well sometimes (as you can get the bonus feature disc), when BB carries the 1 disc of the "exclusive title".

It was a deal that made some people money, but it really hasn't effected me as a renter/consumer.

These are the same guys who tried to intimidate websites that offered overseas editions of Hero DVDs to US customers (instead of just releasing the film in a timely fashion).

I do remember this being at every Blockbuster for a while, though.
