I've never ever missed a proper NY show.
Until now. Bastards schedule 2 shows at The Garden when I'm on vacation. Guess it's just Camden for me this time.

I've given up on the band as a studio/DVD entity, but I'm sure the show will still be a blast. I'll be at Mansfield.

I'll certainly try to make it to the MSG shows, but I have a feeling I won't be able to make it.

All East Coast? Fuck you Eddie!!!!

I just can't wait to have them back down here. Studio albums have not been the same in almost a decade, but live, this band is another different animal.

The Gorge 7 disc set released last year was just magic.

And if you are interested in hearing the craziest audience ever, track down the concerts at Buenos Aires. November 25 and 26 of 2005. Insane. Vedder cried on stage twice and the band had to literally stop playing and just stare at the audience for like 5 minutes. It was just beautiful. The most connected feeling i've felt with a band and it's audience ever. And they felt it too.

Gimme a break, just becuase their more recent albums havent been as radio freindly does not make them of poor quality. No code, Yeild, and the latest self titled disc are some of the best music they've ever put out.

I before E except after phonetic "SSSSS".

Also, I'm a gigantic PJ fan but haven't found the recent album or Binaural as listenable as No Code, Yield, or even Riot Act.

PJ's self-titled disc was my favorite album of 2006, & holds up very well over time. One of the great all-time American rock bands, methinks.

One of these days, Pearl Jam will return to Arizona. And when that day comes, I will be there with Liberty Bells on.

Sweet, St Pete Forum here I come.

This is a special band that's going to be appreciated well beyond their years. That'll be nice when it happens, because I won't have to hear the "their newer stuff sucks compared to the old stuff" tripe I've heard for over a decade.

The last couple of albums were great.

Their apparent refusal to come to Atlanta anymore is maddening.

Count me among the fans of the new stuff, too. If anything, they took a dip on No Code. They've never been as obvious in their Neil Young aping (I count three straight-up Young-style songs), and lot of the songs just come off like in-studio dabbling (unlike on Vitalogy where the songs were clearly songs and the dabblings were clearly dabblings).

Yield was practically a re-defining of the band. The half-baked experiments were restricted to few tracks (Irons' short piece, "Push Me Pull Me," and, to a lesser degree, "Pilate"), and the songwriting was generally strong again. Binaural and the self-titled are two of their strongest albums, and, while Riot Act gets lost in the second half, it starts so strong that it's easy to forgive its shortcomings.

Wish they were coming to this area. I haven't seen them live in a few years. The best was the freezing Alpine Valley show immortalized in the "Dissident" performance on the Touring Band 2000 DVD - the coldest concert I've ever attended and supposedly the coldest they'd ever played.

It's only a 7-8 hour drive to Tampa from Atlanta. Granted, concert's on a Thursday but take a 4 day weekend.

Yeah, I hear you. It's just that as I get older and sadder and crankier, my willingness to travel for shows is almost nil unless there's more to the trip. In January, I didn't go see the Drive By Truckers play because it was an hour away and I couldn't muster the energy to go. Is there anything else to do in Tampa? The Punisher still around there?

As in Frank Castle? Last I heard he was in Miami.

Hmmm. Tampa. June. Beginning of high tourist season, so can't really recommend anything; however, if you did decide to make a trek down Busch Gardens is nice. Not 100% sure of your age (and if single), but Ybor City is kinda like New Orleans (except cleaner, little safer, not as old and no cool cementeries to tour).

Looking at my post, you can assume correctly that I do not work for the Tampa Visitor Association or the Come Vacation in Tampa Board.

I love music but I'm not leaving Texas to see one concert, I'm like misfit, old, cranky, sad and frankly, just not willing to sit on my ass that long. However, if Pearl Jam swings anywhere through Texas, I'm there because I've never seen them live.

I'm going to the columbia & virginia beach shows.

Also, count me among those who feel that Pearl Jam is only getting better with age.

As I said, I'm out of the running for the majority of the shows only because of bad timing, but a buddy of mine had a bitch of a time scoring Garden tickets. The Pearl Jam website still can't handle the onslaught that accompanies the release of NY tickets. Remembering that I used to score tickets through the mail for Pearl Jam concerts makes me feel elderly.

I got Camden tickets real easy.

Oh and if any of you haven't seen the Storytellers episode that Pearl Jam did I highly suggest finding it in any way possible. It was a great hour of music and the insight on the songs they played was tremendous. Greatest hour of that series if you ask me.
