Castles & Crusades - Anyone Play?

The story about Gygax failing his resurrection roll mentioned this game. Has anyone played it or at least taken a look at the rules?

Dickson, I'm looking in your direction?

It looks like a modified AD&D 1st ed. Supposedly you can use all of the 1st Ed book with it. I have boxes of this stuff lying around that I'd love to put to use.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with it. I've heard of Pathfinder, which is basically forging ahead with the 3.5 edition rules, but nothing about Castle & Crusades. I'll have to look into it.

Frankly, my group has been so taken with the Savage Worlds rules we haven't used anything else in months.

Here's a link to some reviews over at RPG.net. Based on a quick read of the reviews, it IS pretty much AD&D, so your opinion will probably depend on your opinion of the earlier game.
