Horror Cartoons

Does anyone know of any good horror cartoons? I'm not talking the Saturday morning kind or another Van Helsing. I am looking more for something as gritty as Spawn or more.

Any suggestions?

It kind of crosses over into anime territory, but the animated version of Vampire Hunter D, maybe?

As far as horror/supernatural thriller anime goes:
-Boogiepop Phantom
-Hellsing/Hellsing Ultimate
-Blood/Blood+
-Paranoia Agent
-Death Note

Those are the titles Im familiar with...I personally like Boogiepop Phantom the most.

If you're going the anime route, Elfen Lied is unintentionally comical.
Not necessarily any good, mind you, but it features traumatised dinosaur girls using invisible hands to disembowel people.

The sequel, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, is way better.
